If you fly the Alaska Highway, and I suggest that you adventurous pilots do, a stop in Watson Lake is a must. It is about the halfway mark between Fort St. John and Whitehorse and offers a picturesque spot to land, having is East/West runway out on a point in the lake. It's unique tower and terminal, built is constructed of logs. During WW2 CYQH was a depot for men and supplies building the highway, which was a direct, joint response to Japanese incursions into Alaska. It was an amazing feat at the time. It took 11,000 army engeers and men (US and Canadian) only 8 months to build 1,100 miles through some very unforgiving terrain. Too small to put into this model, the Sign Post Forest is a collection of signs at Watson Lake, Yukon and is one of the most famous of the landmarks along the Alaska Highway. It was started by a homesick GI in 1942. He was assigned light duty while recovering from an injury and erected the signpost for his hometown: Danville, Ill.
I flew the Alaska Highway from Calgary to Juneau, Whitehorse, and Dawson City back when I was young and rich enough to do it. A buddy and I rented a 182 for 2 weeks and camped most of the way. One needs to carry camping gear when flying into sparsley settled areas. That was a great trip.
I tend to do a right circuit here as the islands are good visual markers and the ski hill is a little close on left base. The ILS (110.30) works well, but is offset, so when you see the runway you will have to disengage and manually take her in.
Although some aspects of the " Old Hangar" are still needed, golf season is starting, and rather than wait, I thought I would bring it out, bumps and all.
Dease Lake is a nice little hop from Watson. (min enroute altitude is about 9,000ft) I think there is an updated version on this site.
mazermart_mazermodels file is necessary if you want to see some items, such as jerry cans, push rods, even some hangars on this and other Mazermart airports. If you are a developer, feel free to use it in your projects too.

Is the "Mazer Model Library" nedded for this scenery?

Not necessary, but some items that I use in all my airports are in it, so you probably won't see them if you don't have it. If you are a developoer you are free to use the models as well.
It is the same one for Sandspit, Victoria Harbour, Port Hardy etc, so you only have to download it once, if you wish. :)

Great work on this airport! Very much looking forward to bringing the ATR in here when it's released next week. I recently moved to Whitehorse and haven't made it over to Watson yet but plan to in the summer. The only gripe I have with this scene is that the taxi lines look a bit sloppy around the terminal. But it's certainly something I can live with!

Such a great area to explore. Have fun.
As for the taxi lines, fair comment; I used projected meshes based on google images and it was a struggle to see the images. Maybe after the summer with WU14 I will revisit it and try again.
BTW -The entire area is snow, even in summer, on the original MSFS airport, so it was a challenge to create the entire gournd textures.
Starting from parking 20 puts you inside the large hangar. (also needs more work)

Ah that makes sense, either way still a great addition to the sim.
Watson Lake Yukon CYQH
In the Yukon territories, close to the northern BC is a delightful airport that has some interesting history. During WW2 this was a depot for men and supplies building the highway, which was a direct, joint response to Japanese incursions into Alaska. It was an amazing feat at the time.

Hay River Merlyn Carter Airport CYHY
Hay River, now renamed Merlyn Carter Airport, is a major regional link to Canada's North West Territories. It sits on the delta of the Hay River as it flows into the Great Slave Lake, which was an important waterway for trade. The air terminal is custom created.

Porty Hardy Airport CYZT
Port Hardy is one of the most important airports on Vancouver Island and is home to Wilderness Seaplane which continues to serve the region with a fleet of Gruman Goose'. It has an ILS with glideslope on Rwy 11 - dial in 109.5 for the localizer and glideslope. It has a new terminal building in which the roof resembles the cross section of a wing. I spent some wonderful days up in that area at Telegraph Cove - 40 miles south, but have been a fan of this wild and beautiful part of Canada for years. See the artwork of Emily Carr for instance. I wanted to incorportate some of the artwork of the coastal indigineous peoples -Kwakiutl First Nations -so I included them as highlighted in the terminal building. (dugout canoe and exterior facade)

- There's a big US Coast Guard ship on the apron just in front of the BC-Yukon Air Service hangar, blocking my way to the fuel pumps.
- The vending machine and cabinets inside the hangar are missing textures (magenta checkering).
- There's an incursion of trees on the edges of the apron.
- The side of the terminal building nearer to the big hangar is floating a bit.
- The texture of the grass next to the apron has been greatly magnified.
