    Beschreibung

    I uploaded two different versions in one .zip file. The original (XL) version with all the scenery objects (1GB) and a "light" version without the unneccessary scenery objects (300MB) saving you some disk space.
    Place either of the containing "tl1980-airport-e533-wangen-starnberg" folder to the community folder. 


    Privatflughafen Wangen bei Starnberg is a private airstrip located south of Munich.
    It is next to the highway junction Starnberg. The European highway code for the Autobahn A95 is the E533. 
    As this airport has no ICAO code , I chose this code for this airstrip as it hasn´t been taken in game. 

    - Download the E533_Privatflugplatz_Wangen_Starnberg.zip file and unzip it. Copy the "tl1980-airport-e533-wangen-starnberg" folder 
    to the Community folder. 

    Features: 

    • custom modeled buildings and scenery objects
    • grass runway with trimmed grass
    • trees on runway have been removed
    • baked in satellite shadows have been removed
    • terraforming the highway


    issues:

    • missing 3D grass blades on surfaces that had baked in shadows from the forrest. So there are patches without 3D grass. 
    • Hangar light shines through the walls at night.

    Any chance this airport will work in MSFS2024 one day? I know it from MSFS 2020, it's lovely. Just happened to see the airport in real life a few days ago and even meet the very friendly owner - so a working MSFS2024 version would be wonderful. Many thanks.

    Thanks for this nice small airfield! I just want to mention that when extracting the file I get an error message that the path length is too long. Issue was solved by making the file name shorter before extraction.

    is there a new feature to set the grass lengh? or did you use an EC?

    no not a new feature. But you can trim the grass with a polygon ontop of the runway. (also works on grass aprons)

    In the last version I didnt have one there. I also set my runway to transparent, because I liked the satellite colors. But this makes the grass long and uneven. I think with a runway grass texture and not set to transparent , the grass should be short too?


    All you need to do is set the polygon vegetation to 0 , add a grass texture in the material slot and define the polygon as an airport.

    I can also write a tutorial in the MSFS forums.

    Do you have any other addons installed? Does it also crash with other addons disabled?

    You're right. If everthing is disabled except a few sceneries around, I have no issue. It'll take some time to find the cause. I let you know if i find it.

    Maybe some of the addons have the same naming convention of the "modellib.bgl" file . Usually the sim crashes if an addon doesn´t have its own naming.


    For addons I use the "MSFS Addons linker" tool, which you can find here as well. With that tool you can rename all "modellib.bgl" files at once.

    I always do that before starting the sim, when downloading a new addon or updating one.

    Thanks for this small airstrip!

    For those who cannot find the airstrip, please go to your world-map entering "E533" and/or "Wagen"; it is unfortunately misspelled (should be "Wangen").
    Then you can choose/find the airstrip easily.

    Amazing - Planning to do city tours in the Aerolite 103 when I'm able to buy it so this little airfield will be perfect for the Munich tour.

    Cannot select it in the game.
    Neither E533 nor Wangen nor Starnberg etc will be accepted.
    Any hidden ICAO reference?

    I uploaded a new picture where to find the airstrip. Basically south of Munich near the Starnberger lake. You should be able to find it by typing E533 into the search bar. If its doesnt show up make sure you copied the right folder ("tl1980-airport-e533-wangen-starnberg") into the community folder. Also try to delete the rolling cache under Options -> General -> data -> delete rolling cache file and restart the sim. Hope it works.
