ChasePlane is a camera utility developed by Parallel 42 for Microsoft Flight Simulator. It replaces many limitations of the simulator's default camera workflow with a dedicated in-sim interface for creating, organizing and quickly accessing custom cockpit, exterior and world views.
Users can create an unlimited number of custom views and assign controls directly to individual cameras or groups. Internal, External and World camera categories are supported, alongside features such as horizon stabilization, adjustable camera movement, cloud backups and physics-based motion profiles intended to simulate handheld, mounted, orbit and chase cameras.
For screenshots and video production, ChasePlane includes its Cinematics system alongside FlyBy, Tower and other dynamic viewpoints. Camera movement can react to aircraft motion without modifying the aircraft's flight model, making the utility applicable both to regular cockpit flying and content creation.
The MSFS 2020 edition received its public release in April 2025. A separate MSFS 2024 edition entered public Experimental release in December 2025 and remains under active development. Parallel 42 has subsequently begun migrating parts of ChasePlane to Asobo's newer Camera API, with the first Sim Update 5 Beta-compatible experimental build released in April 2026.
