    BUILT USING THE FS2024 SDK

    Welcome to Picton Aerodrome as I build additional new scenery around New Zealand for career mode missions in MSFS 2024. PIcton is where the Wellington to Picton ferry goes to connect to the two main islands of NZ. This scenery incorperates material and techniques specifically for FS2024. Consideration is given to the interaction between aircraft wheels and the environment. Embrace the new sim despite its flaws!

    I have taken creative liberty with this scenery, the buildings are all in the right places but I have changed them to give the scenery extra eye-candy for the new sim. The scenery includes the housing around the approaches of both ends of the runway. 

     

    V1.0  18 Dec 24

    • The usual near-payware quality build you have all come to expect.
    • Ground textures, pathing, taxiways and runways should respond to aircraft wheels and propellor wash.
    • Handplaced vegetation, texures, clutter and lighting.
    • Will work well for career mode in FS2024.

     

    V1.1   21 Dec 24

    • Completely fixes the long grass issues I have been battling with. 
    • Aprons are clean now, and fields are not hiding taxi-signs anymore.
    • Added more eye candy, better runway markings and moved the fuel bowser.

    • Minor improvements and additions.

     

    V1.3   21 Jul 25

    • Moved trees on approach.
    • Moved windsock on RWY18 for more room.
    • Removed traffic road. 

     

    V1.4   30 Dec 25

    FS2024 version update.
    Fixes lighting issues caused by updates in SU4.
    Adds FS2024 Helicopter cold and dark parking.
    Minor additions.

    Nup! CoolGunS is actually advanced General AI from the Vega star system. In reality I know how to do all of this stuff in my sleep and anything that annoys me gets noticed and fixed as soon as I land. If I worked at Asobo FS2024 would already be up to Patch 26. Thanks for the 5 stars, keep em coming as they are very much appreciated.

    Hey @CoolGunS another great quality from your magic workshop :) do you have any video tutorials how to take ugly vanilla airport and how to for example change runways, add ILS etc not only decorating the scenery with items? I would love to improve some default ugly airport with bit of love, but I would like to have detailed tutorials how to do that. Of course I would be glad to see that in MSFS2020, becasuse I dont have 2024 yet.

    Nothing springs to mind as I have never had to touch ILS in any of my scenery, as difficult as that is to imagine! I am sure it is easy, just go into the runway properties and look for the ILS options and play with them.All of my learning was from playing around to see what did what.
