FS2024 Section
V1.2 26 Nov 24
- Stage 1 conversion to FS2024. Fixes missing buildings, corrects terrain and textures.
- Makes the airport work fine and look fine.
- Look out for further fixes and updates as I discover cool things in the new SDK.
V1.3 06 Dec 24
- FS2024 Version Update.
- Removes artifacts with some new SDK textures.
- Reinstates missing linework.
- Other minor fixes and improvements.
- Starting to look pretty good. Let us see what Microsoft breaks next though.
V1.4 20 Dec 24
- Changed the terrain pathing references for the new terrain engine to read the surfaces correctly into FS2024.
- Replaced the control tower with one that doesn't suffer from the aggressive LOD 'popping' bug present in FS2024 at the moment.
- Reinstated the missing pedestrian crossing.
V1.5 22 Dec 24
- Completely reworked the entire camping site to match the new bing imagery.
V1.6 20 Jul 25
- Reworked night lighting to brighten up main areas, great for helicopter night landings.
- Added more eye candy while I was checking things.
V1.7 28 Dec 25
- FS2024 version update.
- Replaces/substitutes many missing objects caused by SU4. Too many to list.
- Fixes lighting issues also caused by updates in SU4.
- All of my scenery is now being checked for this total mess they caused us Dev's.
- Adds FS2024 Helicopter cold and dark parking.
- Adds taxiway exit lighting from the main runways.
- Some other minor fixes and additions.

FS2020 Section
Note your sim must be up to date with all world updates installed. You do not need any photogrammetry installed, just the base world updates as I borrow scenery from those resources. This project makes extensive use of the UK2000 Scenery Library which is free in the Marketplace. Please make sure you have it installed.

V 1.0 - Stage 1 of 2
Weclome to Taupo Airport. I have decided that New Zealand is my next big mission. I have downloded all the NZ freeware from this website and I am disappointed that apart from a few exceptions, they are mostly all in the recycle bin.
So, along with Invercargill, Tauranga and Hood Aerodrome, I am creating high quality scenery of my home country to share for when I do my grand tour there in my A2A Comanche.
The more I do, the better they get. The NZ count is now 4. Expect that to climb to at least 20. Follow my work to keep up!
Thankfully most of the towns in NZ are covered by very recent high-resolution aerial photography, so coupled with Navigraph charts I can get to work creating faithful renditions of my favourite NZ airports. I reserve the right to apply creative license to all my work, so don't expect 100%, but I will get it pretty close. 'Pretty' being the operative word.
V 2.0 Stage 2 of 2 ( 7 Mar 24 )
Yes, the final stage is done. Both access roads and buildings are complete as well as the camp site. Note extra dependencies have been added since V 1.0. Check the dependencies section below.
Featuring: (check out the video trailer below)
- Over 300 hand placed objects.
- Lots of detail, including custom apron markings.
- Completed airport, apron, carpark and hangars, including the decomissioned control tower.
- Animation, but limted for FPS optimisation.
- Lighting completed now.
- Fully fenced as always. No intruders allowed.
- Seamless textures, and tight linework.
- PAPI's in the EXACT position.
- VERY high detail and true to life carpark. Proud of this one for sure, even better than Port Hedland's.
- Heli-starts in the correct spots, Taupo has a quirky chopper operation, there are dedicated helipads but they are unmarked and serviced by tugs and dollys. These have been recreated in full.
- Campsite complete with campers, tents, etc.
- All service buildings, heli-rescue and more heli-starts.
- Varied the sizes and shapes of the tree objects after @User654YT gave me a great tip.
V 2.1 6 May 24
- Replaced a hangar with one you can spawn into. Choose GA_Small 1 for this cool feature.
- Prevented ATR's and such from spawning into the small GA parking, and into the new hangar!
V 2.2 21 May 24
- Fixed a taxi sign exiting RWY17 that was facing backward.
- Added lighting and extra clutter to your private hangar.
- Corrected the size of the apron parking numbers as they were too large.
- Added animated NZ flags to the terminal and old control tower.
V 2.3 23 May 24
- Fixes a glitching object reported in V2.2.
- Moved the boundary fence further away from taxiway alpha so some larger aircraft can clear it should you wish to use an ATR etc.
- Fixed some floating objects.
V 2.4 (27 Jul 24)
- Cut the annoying length of all MSFS grass textures down to 1/3rd of their stock length. Makes a massive difference especially for Helipads.
- Essentially I, 'mowed the grass'.
- I can't believe it took me this long to discover an effective technique to achieve this. I will be applying this to all of my scenery over time.
V 2.5 (4 Aug 24)
- Added a hidden parking spots for the helipads (Parking 100, 101 etc) to allow cold and dark starts.
- Added shrubbery around the airport areas.
- Removed a lightpole next to a helipad.
V 3.0 (7Sep 24) NOTE THE DEPENDANCIES HAVE CHANGED DUE TO THE HELI-PAD LIGHTING
- Reworked the apron and carpark line work.
- Corrected any taxisigns and placed them in the right position and orientation.
- Replaced the stock lines with my own custom ones. Now all ground markings and lines will be colour matched.
- Added FOTA lights to the heli-pads for night operations.
- Added lights to the windsocks as well.
- Tweaked the AI taxi paths.
- Did some more 'anti-blotching' work
- This should be the last update before MSFS 2024.
Be sure to read the note in yellow at the top of this description regarding the state of your MSFS installation in order for everything to display correctly.

Tip:
Don't forget to reload your Little Navmap scenery library now and then in order to keep your new airfields accurately portrayed within it. This way all your new taxiway designations are updated among other things.
LNM automatically searches through your community folder during the process which runs in the background so you can keep simming.
From the menu bar of LNM: Scenery Library | Load Scenery Library | press Load. When finished, press Use Database.
Instructions:
Unzip and drop into your Community folder.
Enjoy.
