    Beschreibung

    Nestled in the heart of the scenic Rockies of northern British Columbia, running parallel to Highway 97 Alaska Hwy in the center of Toad River at Mile 422, lies the private 2600 foot Toad River Airstrip.  

    Toad River (originally Toad's River Post), is a small community that offers services for travelers and tourists.  On one side of the airstrip is a highway service station, as well as several houses and a school.  On the opposite side is Toad River lodge, a restaurant, a gas station, and serene lakeside pastures.

    Bush pilots can expect interesting approaches on the 08/26 runway, which requires a quick descent from either direction, and careful landing between trees, the highway, and powerlines.  The nearby lodge makes this a great overnight stop for cross-country flights, without the need for pitching a tent.

    With the airstrip, quonset garage, lodge and farmland, you wouldn't be wrong in thinking this resembles The Long Dark.  Keen observers will also find animals in the area, including bears, moose, and possibly even wolves.

    How to Install
    This download contains two versions of CBK7 Toad River Airstrip: one for MSFS 2020 and one for MSFS 2024.  Make sure to install the correct version for your simulator.

    • To install for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020:
      • Make sure that the most up-to-date dependencies are correctly installed in your MSFS 2020 Community folder
      • Download this scenery
      • Open the downloaded zip file
      • Open the 2020 folder
      • Move the noticalmyles-airport-cbk7-toad-river subfolder directly to your MSFS 2020 Community folder
    • To install for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024:
      • Make sure that the most up-to-date dependencies are correctly installed in your MSFS 2024 Community folder
      • Download this scenery
      • Open the downloaded zip file
      • Open the 2024 folder
      • Move the noticalmyles-airport-cbk7-toad-river subfolder directly to your MSFS 2024 Community folder

    I gotta say, I stumbled upon your projects for the sim and I am absolutely blown away. I am a flight simulator veteran (FS98) and this area has NEVER been properly modelled and represented. I grew up in Toad River and Muncho Lake and also am a real world pilot so it is absolutely thrilling to see the level of detail here. I commend you for this sir.

    Really nice work Myles! It is a great choice of location, with such an interesting and unique setup right beside the highway. It's so nice to see some of your own custom scenery objects, they really help enhance the realism and connect the scenery to its real-world counterpart!
    I flew up to Muncho Lake to check out the seaplane base, sadly it's another victim of poor satellite imagery! Looks like an incredible spot though from what I have seen online...

    I was just gonna ask about muncho, Its so beautiful IRL. A cool flight is to start in Hudsons Hope CYNH and go a few km's SW to the Bennet Dam for some awesome view. Proceed along the shore until you get to where it opens up , then its due north up williston lake, (which has a ton of old abandoned strips along it) making stops at numerous native towns and proceed straight up the northern valley and up to muncho /toad/liard/dease lake/ whitehorse that way

    I'm glad to hear it is working as expected now. Thank you again for alerting me about the issue. Yes you can absolutely look for more! My goal for version 1.0.0 of CBK7 was to have the scenery and custom models in place, but I have plans to add more functionality in future updates (along with support for MSFS2024). I am going to shift to other airports in my list to build while I figure out how to extend CBK7. :) Lastly, thank you for my first rating! It means a lot. Hope you enjoy it! Myles
