FS2024 Section

V1.1   05 Dec 24

• Stage 1 conversion to FS2024. Fixes missing buildings, corrects terrain and textures.
• Makes the airport work fine and look fine.
• Look out for further fixes and updates as I discover cool things in the new SDK.

V1.2   20 Dec 24

• Changed the terrain pathing references for the new terrain engine to read the surfaces correctly into FS2024.
• Made some minor additions and other fixes.

V1.3  25 Jan 25

• Added missing objects to the open hangar.
• Made major texture improvements in and around the airfield.
• Added more eye candy.

V1.4   05 Dec 25

• Added the proper FS2024 Helicopter Parking for cold/dark starts. Look for Helicopter Parking xx.
• Made other minor additions and texture work.
• Final check before SU4.

V1.5   01 Jan 26

• FS2024 version update.
• Replaces/substitutes many missing objects/buildings caused by SU4.
• Fixes lighting issues also caused by updates in SU4.
• All of my scenery is now being checked for this total mess they caused us Dev's.
• Adds taxiway exit lighting from the main runway(s).
• Some other minor fixes and additions.

FS2020 Section

NOTE: Your sim must be up to date with all world updates and POI's installed. You do not need any photogrammetry installed,  just the base world updates as I borrow scenery from those resources. This project makes extensive use of the UK2000 Scenery Library which is free in the Marketplace. Please make sure you have it installed.

This is another of my replications of the FIFO airflields in Western Australia. This one done by request.

Fortescue Dave Forrest Airport (IATA: KFE, ICAO: YFDF) is located about 5 km (3 mi) northeast of Fortescue Metals Group's Cloud Break mine in Western Australia.

The airport is served by charter flights from airlines across Western Australia. The airport has the ability to operate with one Airbus A320 or Boeing 737, and has full baggage handling services. The open-air terminal buildings are around 500 square metres (5,400 sq ft) and do not have any security services in the terminal.

V 3.0 (23 Aug 24) - NOTE THE DEPENDANCIES HAVE CHANGED.

• Payware quality as is expected by my followers.
• Full overhaul from the ground up, a complete rebuild.
• New buildings and objects.
• Accurate apron and markings.
• Your own GA hangar to spawn into.
• Redid all of the ground textures with custom multi-layered ground work.
• Rebult all of the fencing, lighting and gates.
• Completely redid the runway, placing the VASI lights in the correct position.
• Cleaned up the MSFS artifacts for a nice and crispy airport.
• Added a cold and dark chopper start under the helipad (Parking 100).
• Checked FPS, all good.

Tip:
Don't forget to reload your Little Navmap scenery library now and then in order to keep your new airfields accurately portrayed within it. This way all your new taxiway designations are updated among other things.

LNM automatically searches through your community folder during the process which runs in the background so you can keep simming.

From the menu bar of LNM:  Scenery Library | Load Scenery Library | press Load. When finished, press Use Database.

Instructions:
Unzip and drop into your CommuniV 1.2 ( 10 Feb 24 )

• Added the airport to the MSFS World Map GUI for visibilty and easier selection.
• Added a boundary fence to the entire airfield to keep out the kangaroos.
• Added Australian flavoured vehicles, landcruisers etc.
