    Some libraries are required for this scenery to display as intended! Please see Dependencies!

    This scenery brings a much needed makeover to Kantishna Airport. In stock MSFS, the runway was unrealistically displayed on a ridge, an anomaly in the scenery. This scenery package fixes that by completely rebuilding the airport from the ground up. Airport elevations have been corrected along with a custom texture for the gravel runway and parking area. Some fixes were also made to the river near the airport, excluding the water that covered areas that it shouldn't, such as areas of forest and sandbars.

    !! This scenery IS NOT compatible with earlier versions of the Alaska Water Height fix addon by Baddweapon! Please install the latest version of the package (v1.2 or higher), for compatibility with this scenery!

    Requirements
    Installation

    The included "esd-airport-5z5-kantishna" folder should be placed into your MSFS "Packages\Community" folder. The scenery will load the next time you start Microsoft Flight Simulator.

    Hi there, the runway for 5Z5 shows up as a grey and white checkerboard for me using the Orbx mesh. I have followed the installation instructions. Any ideas why this may be?

    ORBX mesh, as far as I'm aware, should not affect the runway textures in any way. A checkerboard texture usually means that the texture could not be found. Do you have the latest version of Emerald Object Library installed? It contains the texture used for the runway.


    If you do, have you also tried removing and reinstalling the ORBX mesh from your community folder a few times to confirm if it's a certain conflict or not? I do not have a copy of the mesh, so I am unable to verify personally.

    Turns out there was another folder inside the parent Emerald Object Library folder that I needed to place into my Community folder that has now fixed the issue. Great addon, works well with Orbx now!

    No. The water height fix was based off of the old mesh elevations before the USA update. Being so, the fixed elevation in that addon is a lot lower than the default terrain now. So, with it enabled it puts the airport on a high ridge. If I try to compensate for it, it puts the runway in a hole for all those who don't use the package.

    Making it compatible would require me maintaining two different branches, which I experimented with before releasing this version. However, I couldn't get it to look right because of the elevation difference between the river and airport.

    Thanks to Baddweapon, the latest version of the Alaska Water Height fix scenery is now compatible with this addon.

    I think my game doesn´t load those files, i don´t see those buildings and the relief at end / start of the runway are 10m above the rest of the runway. I installed it just now, don't know if the last USA uptade is messing with this. I have installed the community folder in a custom folder at C: I load other mods without problems, what do you think? have you try it after the USA update? thanks! looks nice in the pictures! xD

    I haven't got around to checking this airport for issues since the USA update. Will do that in the next day or two. Unless something changed in the latest update, those buildings should be there as they are stock. I did not add them. Will check out the runway end elevation issues.

    Just got around to checking on this airport. Yea, the runway is jacked after the USA World Update. Will work on getting this fixed.

    Ah, I just read this after having the same problem. I assume you haven't updated this yet--frankly I hope so since the not-working update worried me that something was wrong with my process! I lived in Denali for a summer so grateful that you took on this effort.

    I'm not 100% sure I'm understanding you correctly. Are you saying that you are experiencing an issue with the scenery? All elevation issues regarding the USA update as well as the Alaska Water Height Fix should be resolved in the current version.

    This scenery simply does not load up for me. Other scenery files for other locations have worked fine for me, so either I am doing something wrong for just this one or there's some other error. Kantishna has none of your visual upgrades as far as I can tell.

    My specs if they matter: Intel Core i7 10700KF (8-Core 5.1GHz Turbo Boost), RTX 3070 8GB, 32GB Dual Channel at 3200MHz, 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD.

    It may be a stupid question, but since this is the number 1 issue most of the time, I'll ask anyways. Are you 100% sure that the correct folder was dropped into your community folder? I package my files like so: Extracted Folder (Parent) > Community > Addon (Gets placed into your community folder). However, sometimes a subdirectory is created when unzipping: Extracted Folder > Folder of same name > Community > Addon. If you know for a fact that the scenery is installed correctly, shoot me a PM from my profile and include a few images of the airport. Then I can help you further. :)

    Appreciate all the work to make this airport work as it should, especially the mesh. Such awesome scenery up that way it would be a shame not to be able to see it as it should be. Very good job !
