Capitán FAP Pedro Canga Rodríguez Airport (IATA: TBP, ICAO: SPME) is an airport serving Tumbes, Peru. It is the main airport of the Tumbes Region, and is run by CORPAC S.A. (Corporación Peruana de Aeropuertos y Aviación Comercial S.A.), a government organization that manages Peruvian airports. The airport is used mainly by locals and national and international travelers because of its proximity to beaches and resorts.

Tumbes is located at the northern end of Peru and is the capital of the department of the same name. Here, people live near the sea and are renowned for their black oyster ceviche. It is home to a population of 164,404 inhabitants and thanks to its tropical climate there is a permanent low of visitors interested in bird watching, studying medicinal plants or simply enjoy its magical marine scenery. The most important economic activities in Tumbes are trade, tourism, fishing and agriculture and the oil industry. The fishing village of Puerto Pizarro is the starting point to visit mangroves in an area where salty sea water mixes with fresh water from the river, creating a diverse and rich ecosystem. Tumbes is  also the gateway to the Tumbes Reserved Zone, where you can find a piece of tropical forest on the Peruvian Pacific coast.
