    Greater Liverpool POIs - custom built

    To compliment the Liverpool City hand crafted scenery created by spas3man and me (https://flightsim.to/file/9431/liverpool-hand-crafted-scenery), here are some POIs a little further afield.

    Again this is a mixture of adaptations from 3D Warehouse and my own builds.  Credit to original creators from 3DWarehouse.

    POIs included :

    Bootle Docks - cranes,container movers, shipping

    Seaforth radar tower

    New Brighton - Fort Perch and lighthouse

    Wirral ferry terminals

    Cammell Lairds

    Tunnel ventilation buildings

     

    All greatly enhance approach to EGGP Rwy 09.

    I will be adding further items - suggestions welcome!

    Version 2

    Main addition is Stanlow oil refinery.  A fair representation and visible from across the water at the airport.

    * If you have the Digital Designs EGGP, then there is a "no Stanlow" version for you to use, although the original seems to work OK with it.

    Eastham locks
    Removed rogue trees as requested
    Leasowe lighthouse
    Dome of home
    Bidston windmill

    Thanks again for adding to this area, looks great and keeps getting better and better! I have DD version of EGGP installed and prefer keeping your Stanlow models overlaid on top of DD's models as it adds even further detail to this area. Perfect! And thanks for removing those phantom trees :)

    Well if they play nicely together - even better! I'll offer a NoStanlow version and folks can take their choice.
    BTW is the DD version of EGGP much better than the default ? I will treat myself to it if it's a significant improvement.

    Yes, I would definitely say the DD version of EGGP is better than the Asobo default. Worth the money in my opinion. There is some object duplication with their Stanlow and yours but only when you look closely otherwise I think your scenery and theirs go great together, looks great now with all the funnels looking across at Stanlow while taxiing from EGGP, just how it is in real life! Thanks again for the great work.

    Ah. I don't have the DD EGGP. If they've covered Stanlow, I'll do a version with it removed. Had to do something similar with my EGGP approach mod. Thanks for the heads up.

    I never realised that the DD EGGP had Stanlow scenery. That might explain the graphics issues I previously reported.


    I've just removed the DD EGGP and reinstalled the Asobo EGGP, the graphic errors around Stanlow and Ellesmere Port all disappear.


    The errors I was seeing are ground spikes and floating builds. A friend has replicated this. But it is weird because I was seeing them from the Dee estuary where as the friend approaching from that direction did not see them, but he approached from Hawarden and saw them then

    Brilliant this! Can't thank you enough for doing this area, really adds to the realism of flying around home. One question, is there the possibility to remove those horrible trees that Asobo have made spawn on the rock sea defenses around the north and east coast of the Wirral peninsular? I tried in the scenery editor but not experienced enough to make it work. Thanks again for the great work.

    Well mate - It is all your fault. Been singing "Ferry down the Mersey" all week since finding your scenery. Now I can't stop whistling the thing, and my dog is thinking of leaving home to get some peace... Apart from that, fantastic job, well done!

    Thanks for the appreciation. I'll keep trying to improve the North West and North Wales until Asobo catch up!
