Alitalia operated multiple variants of the MD-11, namely 3 full passenger variants, a fleet of rare Combi aircraft, and some freighters (both converted from their Pax fleet and native Freighters). Alitalia operated these through the 1990s and early 2000s. However by the mid-2000s the high cost of maintenance, fuel, and the downturn in the air market after 9/11 and the forever shaky finances of Alitalia doomed their pax MD-11s to an early retirement. Some would see conversions into dedicated freighter aircraft while others would be moved on to different cargo carriers like Lufthansa Cargo and Federal Express.

This pack contains the following jets:

I-DUPB - Pietro Mascagni - This livery represents the Alitalia fleet as it was introduced, pre-Skyteam, the cheatline going all the way onto the nose, and with little gold Alitalias down the fuselage in the green cheatline just in case you forgot what airline you were flying. 

I-DUPC - Vincente Bellini - This livery represents the Aliitalia fleet about midway through its service life. DUPC at one point had an incident and needed the radome replaced, which is how it is depicted here. The gold titles had also been removed at this point in time in the fleet.

I-DUPD - Gaetano Donizzetti - This livery represents an aircraft at the end of its service life in the Alitalia fleet, washing kind of fell to the wayside in the post-9/11 downturn, Alitalia was now a part of Skyteam and had to find a place for the logo, and the cheatline had been shortened slightly so that they didn't have to make sure each nosecone matched exactly if they were replaced.

This fleetpack is ONLY compatible with the v2.0 exterior model for the TFDI MD-11. Currently, this is only available to Collectors Edition members but will come to the wider public very soon. This download WILL NOT WORK on the v1.0 model.
