Now that Waiheke project is complete I have moved on to a new project. It is lake Taupo and Mt Ruapehu which are in the north Island of New Zealand.

It doesn't include Taupo airport because it is already done. I've made a farm airfield at Kinloch, which acts as the main airfield for the project. There will be another what if airfield on Mt Ruapehu located in front of the Chateau.
I will be building a model of the Chateau and adding a helipad up on the ski field area.

There will be several floatplane piers located around lake Taupo so you can access several areas.

It may take several months to complete. I will add images as I progress.

There has been a change of plan. The Mt Ruapehu Airfield has been moved to the old Mountain Air Airfield. This makes it more realistic. I will add helicopter pads at the Airfield and in front of the Chateau.

Unfortunately my hard drive just died while I was making the Chateau, so it will be a couple of weeks before I'm back building. No projects were lost.

Huka lodge is a good idea. I will look into after I have completed the Chateau and Skotel hotel. I got the new hard-drive yesterday so should be back in business early next week. Fortunately the old one had three months left on the warranty.

Amazing :D Yeah it is a very common spot for helis around Taupo... The sightseeing base up the road is a great start, and will indeed complement, the more luxurious Huka Lodge :D I already found the exact spot its in in the sim :D I go in and out of there a lot, with updated base maps and stuff it is pretty good. But again, nothing on a specifically designed one :D It would be a marvellous asset to the sim with I'm sure many real commercial helicopter pilots familiar with it and indeed aviation enthusiasts like me too :D Good work getting a new hard-drive under warranty! I have had issues with my 6 year old CPU or Motherboard or something. Actually more like 8 years. It wouldn't boot in secure boot, so had to disable that due to an invalid signature or something-a-rather. Point is I feel your pain PC wise for sure, although my current OMEN has been extremely reliable thus far :D I had a laptop die instantaneously on me once, not under warranty...So again, glad it was on that for you :D Both the other spots too sound great additions to the sim. Having been down to Taupo recently theres nothing quite like it and indeed complements Auckland very well :D

If you Email me on ridgetoriver5@gmail.com I will send you a link to the Rupheau and Turangi airfields which are 95% complete. I also have an airfield at Kinloch which is locked up on my computer hard-drive. Hopefully I will get it back in a couple of days. In the meantime I will continue with the Skotel which is on my old computer. I spent all my school holidays in the sixties. It was a good time.

All good, I've got plenty of spots to challenge myself right around virtual NZ at present :D Just I've always thought Huka Lodge to be a good-un :D One would also probably think Kauri Cliffs, Te Arai Links. Maybe even a vineyard or two on Waiheke :D But that opens up a whole nother plethora really doesn't it haha. Currently leaving the Mansion on Lake Wakapitu which is of essence of a place like Huka, so obviously others have found these common heli locations a good option too :D

I have done Waiheke just recently. If you look for the projects by GKMLyou will find it. The Batch winery is part of it.
