This mod reduces the scale of all trees worldwide to a more realistic level.
Also the vegetation in urban areas is drastically reduced, making cities look much less abandoned.
The amount of coniferes in Germany has been adjusted to about 75% like it is in real life.
Just copy the folder from the .zip file in your community folder.
Version 1.1 Update:
- Update for south California in the region between San Diego and Los Angeles
- Adjusted tree coverage and size in above area
- Added some palm trees to that area
- Adjustment of global coverage in urban areas
- Adjustment of tree size in urban areas to blend in with surrounding forests

Is this compatible with SU12?

Good morning ! do you think it is possible to have trees without leaves or less leaves for the winter? Thanks again for your addon

Are the coniferes in Austria fixed too? If not, would be great to see the Alps improved too 😉

Endlich sieht der Thüringer Wald echt aus und nicht mehr diese Laubbäume überall. Der Flug durch das Schwarzatal macht jetzt richtig Spaß!

I have to say, this could be one of the best mods out there, as it fixes one of the worst immersion breaking issues in MSFS (in my opinion)!
I tested it in Utah's backcountry and around Friday Harbor, and these areas look way better than with the default tree config. Thank you!
(Just one feedback: the "ScrubSmall" biome seems to have been removed, this "breaks" sceneries referencing it and will cause them to use some default biome instead.)

I created som custom airports and noticed with this mod that it changes the small bushes I added (biome ScrubSmall) to full size trees. Now I don't know if it's my fault for using the sdk wrong (I'm a begginer in this) or is that a bug with this mod.
hkogge 2 month(s) ago
It's not your fault, this mod removes the "ScrubSmall" biome.
As the mod reduces the size of all biomes in general (as it seems), the "normal" scrub becomes the new "SmallScrub". You can/should update your sceneries and set the override to the normal scrub.

Is there another solution other than removing an entire biome? Reducing the ScrubSmall biome heights as well for example (or leaving them as they are?).
I feel like a lot of sceneries would rely on that, and it isn't feasible changing them over to the normal one, as not everyone will have your mod installed.
Just something to consider.

Is your mod ever going to be compatible with Bejan Seasons? Because I need it for the seasons, but I hate this dense trees in Cities
badnick578 2 month(s) ago
I don't think this will be possible. I don't have the seasons mod, but from the description it looks like they modified the same files as I did.

I love this. Thank you very much. Mountains and terrain look much more realistic and more believable. Question though, do you think your mod will conflict with this mod: https://flightsim.to/file/23184/southern-california-foliage-clean-up-california-usa ?
badnick578 2 month(s) ago
Have not tested it yet. But when I look into the file structure of the southern california mod, I see nothing that would cause a conflict with this one. In other words, it should work.
ScarsStitches 2 month(s) ago
Would you please try it and let me know? It doesn't have to be a conflict that causes problems. Even if it's redundancy, then i will stick with your mod and delete the other one.

Is there still a conflict with Bijans seasons V. 7.2 and later?
badnick578 2 month(s) ago
I haven't tested it, since I have no payware seasons mod. But I can imagine they use the same approach to change the trees as I do. So there is most likely still a conflict.

AWESOME! Turned off REX and WOW, what a difference... Hopefully, someday you can advance it into seasonal changes, although I would imagen that is a monumental task. THANK YOU!
badnick578 2 month(s) ago
It's no problem to change the color of the leaves. Maybe I do static seasons at some point, like a spring or autumn pack. I will not write an additional program to match the seasons with the sim time.
AIRPAC1 2 month(s) ago
That would probably been just awesome, I don't think either of the other two packages did it automatically either, as you were given seasonal packages for various regions and had to replace them at will. Anyway, thanks for the reply and the consideration!

Works great, best forest mod. I tried it in the southern part of Germany. Thanks to the mod the forest in the (pre)alpine area is much closer to the real look (thanks to the conifers).
But I had to switch off the REX Accuseason Mod because it would override the forest and the conifers are all gone in the part before the higher mountains start. So Accuseason mod is useless for me now. Did someone achieve that Accuseason keeps the conifers and just effects the deciduous trees?
But to be honest this forest enhanced mod did the job and I am satisfied with the look now. Thanks for the good work!

Thanks, keep improving it please , 5 stars

Thanks for the info.

I think one of the reasons there are so many trees in built up areas is deliberate and done to help hide the ugly photogrammetry tees. What we really need is for the machine learning to recognise trees and not try to draw them and just have autogen trees instead.
JNBennett64 3 month(s) ago
i agree , and how about a new up to date detailed Bing map, would make it much easyer
Mucka1 2 month(s) ago
Yes. Bing on the level of Google or even better would really elevate the sim ground visuals.
Pretty sure finding a method of auto excluding photogrammetry trees would also yield some performance gauns as all those useless ugly hundreds of thouands of extra polygons would not need to be rendered. Win, win.
