To accompany the release of our Morane D-3801, we have developed a small scene which represents the airfield of Zweisimmen as it was at the time of the use of this aircraft. The scenery has been created with an aerial photo from 1946 as a reference as well as the memories of a member of our team, who had the opportunity to go and see aircraft flying on this airfield as a child.

This scene is simple in its conception, but allows to find oneself in a post-war atmosphere, an atmosphere which perfectly suits the Morane.

Zweisimmen airfield is a private airfield located near Zweisimmen in the Swiss canton of Bern.
The airfield was created during the Second World War as an airfield that constituted the so-called "Reduit national".  The Air Force stationed machines in Zweisimmen for the first time in September 1942,
Air Force Company 6 with Messerschmitt fighters. By the end of the war, there were eight shelters, four fragmentation defense posts, a command post and a bomb store. It was used as a military airfield until the 1990s. Since 2011, it has been owned by a civilian cooperative.

Installation
Unzip the ZIP archive into a temporary folder and copy the folder "swissmilsim-lstz-zweisimmen-legacy" into your "Community" folder.

Future developments / known problems

• Most 3D objects do not have PBR textures yet. The textures will be adapted later.
• The runway car (PIWA - Pistenwagen) is currently static. In the future, it will be positioned at one end of the runway depending on the wind direction. In addition, its flag will move with the wind.
• The rendering of the night scene is not good: the farms are too bright and the field is illuminated. The farms, like other 3D objects, will be adapted with PBR textures.
• In winter, snow accumulates inside the bunkers. This will be adapted with PBR textures.
