King Air 350 Engine Fix (Prop Feathering, Prop Speed & Ignition) - Image 1

    Beschreibung

Config mod for the King Air 350i to fix the following issues in the stock one:

    • Prop feathering now works at idle on the ground, enabling you to start/stop the engines in feather
    • Fixed propeller beta on ground, prop RPM is now controllable and the aircraft no longer gets stuck in dangerous thrust settings (the engines do produce a considerable amount of idle thrust in real life, to counter this the condition levers should be in LOW IDLE, prop levers at MIN and alternate between IDLE and BETA (reverse) on the thrust levers when taxiing)
    • Ignition bug fixed - ensure autoignition is set to ARM before starting. If you miss this step and ignition gets stuck on, ensure auto-ignition is set to ARM and cycle both starter switches, ignition will then switch off.

Is there anyway to lower the taxi speed? even at 0 percent throttle I have sit on the brakes

The KA has a lot of thrust at idle - try pulling the throttles back into beta on the ground or keeping the condition levers at low idle until you line up on the runway

The mod works great, fixing the ignition error is really great, it was really annoying.

However, there is now a small error in the display of the undercarriage status.

All in all, a great mod.

Not sure I can comment on the gear status - I've had that happen myself with the stock King Air - but this mod is more or less discontinued now as most of the engine issues it's designed to fix have been addressed via sim updates. I might push an update aimed at only fixing the steering and ignition bug, without getting in the way of the rest of the engine tuning

Ok If I find a solution I will post it here

Landing gear boots pre slew as two red one green from memory. I found the fix that is simply engage slew mode once for 5 seconds - doesn't really matter how long. Disengage slew and they all green again :D Have to do this as soon as flight loaded and before starting any form of aircraft interaction. May work after but I only tested this way :D

I always keep on finding something like engines is too powerful, even without the mod. Full flaps, gear, 0, still hard to lose speed. And you can still gain at 0 percent throttle (this is without the mod btw). Why do people say it worsens with the mod?

ITT is runing too high. I cant even get to cruise without over heating and getting hi n1 msgs. this mod is broke

I'm also looking at this mod and that of JD and ask myself whether a mod correcting is necessary with the current build ... Can the Dev say something about it?

SU7 probably broke it, will investigate. Does the SU7 KingAir still speed out of control on the ground? If they've sorted the engines out then this mod might not be needed anymore regardless

No issues with ITT here (in SU7 beta patch), right now flying for the first time after downloading this, and the most glaring difference I noticed btw your mod and the stock plane is that the small backup display is working with your mod. In the stock plane it doesn't.

Your ground control (steering) and Cond Lever N1/N2 Idle control was/is Perfect! Even if Asobo made some engine corrections, this mod is NOT obsolete.

I Actually took the SU8 "Prop_Mod_' files and added to your engine.cfg. and it's the perfect King Air now. (except for FLC mode broke now)

Thank You Alister! You Made my condition Levers work again after SU6!

This mod is working seamlessly with Asobo's update, JD's GTN750 and with some of JD's Seat color and gauges mods (not using JD's Flight Model Mod after SU6).

Thanks again for your great work and all your effort making and sharing this.

I Credited you and linked your awesome mod on a discussion in MSFS Forum about the loss of binding of the Cond Levers after the update. I hope you don't Mind.

    Hi,

Could you do a similar mod for the Cessna Caravan please?

After SU6 the condition lever axis is broken. Thanks to you mod, it still works on the Kingair.

I will actually be updating this mod soon to integrate some of the SU6 improvements to the turboprops - but I won't do that until I work out how to bind the condition axis so I can provide a guide 😉 I personally don't mind using the mouse for now, but understand that it's a dealbreaker for a lot of people who've invested in hardware etc.

For the C208, I can highly recommend Magraina's fantastic mod which provides some more indepth systems simulation as well as the engine fixes, have a google for 'magraina C208b mod' and it'll be on Github

It seems like they have hidden the condition lever change event so you have to do it on-screen. But if you can figure out a binding, that would be amazing. I wonder how any of the 3rd party aircraft devs can progress their projects when Asobo keep moving the goalposts?

Seems to be working fine but strange side effect was that it switched on the Air Traffic Communications in the AI Assist. I have never had that on. :)

I think that's a mainline MSFS bug - it keeps switching itself on for me whatever aircraft I use - highly annoying 🤣

Doozy of an update here - added a few quality of life fixes! • On-ground beta angle changed, this results in about half the thrust at low idle, which should make the aircraft much more controllable on the ground. Note that the condition levers need to be in LOW IDLE for taxi - only move to HIGH IDLE when ready for takeoff as it produces a boatload of idle thrust • Reduced flap lift coefficient to counteract massive tendency to balloon in the flare - will be tweaked more over time • Significantly increased nosewheel steering angle IF THE MOD DOES NOT LOAD: • Check you don't have JD's Flight Model Mod installed - it will override this mod • Make sure you're not starting MSFS in Safe Mode as this will prevent any community mods loading
