This scenario showcases a historic transformation: the former Roosevelt Roads Naval Station (TJRV), once a key military base in the Caribbean, now reborn as José Aponte de la Torre Airport in Ceiba, Puerto Rico—fully edited by me for Flight Simulator 2020. I redesigned the taxiways, ground textures, night lighting, taxi signs, buildings, hangars, streets, and vegetation. I also added clearance, ground, tower, and approach frequencies for a more immersive experience.

The port in the town of Ceiba —which once hosted naval ships and submarines as part of the base— is now operated by the Puerto Rico Ports Authority and serves only as a ferry terminal to Culebra and Vieques. To view the ferries in the simulator, you’ll need to install the free VESSELS: CORE LIBRARY mod from the marketplace.

This scenario celebrates the rebirth of a Caribbean military base, now reimagined as a modern airport for the virtual world.

Este escenario representa una transformación histórica: la antigua Base Naval Roosevelt Roads (TJRV), una instalación militar clave en el Caribe, ahora renace como el Aeropuerto José Aponte de la Torre en Ceiba, Puerto Rico, completamente editado por mí para Flight Simulator 2020. He rediseñado los taxiways, el suelo, las luces nocturnas, los taxi signs, edificios, hangares, calles y vegetación. También añadí frecuencias de clearance, ground, torre y approach para una experiencia más realista.

Además, el puerto del pueblo de Ceiba —que antes albergaba barcos y submarinos como parte de la base naval— ahora es operado por la Autoridad de Puertos de Puerto Rico y sirve exclusivamente como terminal de ferries hacia Culebra y Vieques.
