(Current status: HIGHLY EXPERIMENTAL)
This mod improves the LVFR A340-300's flight model/dynamics to be more consistent with how I think the real A340-300 probably flies. The most notable change, in my opinion, is that the aircraft will no longer have a 0-degree pitch angle in the climb.
This mod requires the user to own the LVFR Airbus A340-300. (Should be obvious, but there it is anyway.)
To install, just extract the ZIP file to your MSFS Community folder; if it doesn't work, please post a comment and I'll try to help.
The mod consists of a modified flight_model.cfg and engines.cfg with the following features:
- Aerodynamics, flight tuning, and flaps values adopted from the awesome Headwind A330-900neo with a few tweaks
- Airplane geometry values adjusted to match available data on the real A340-300 (for example, wing area and span)
- Various engine config values adjusted to match available specifications for the real CFM56-5C4 engine.
Please note that I am very new to MSFS modding, so it won't be perfect by any means; however, if anybody thinks of any specific tweaks that may further improve realism, please post a comment and I'll see what I can do. Please feel free to post any general questions or comments about the mod as well; I'd really like to know what everyone thinks of it.

And if you somehow aren't aware, SimPlaza is a pirate site. I can't support piracy, and a good many other websites would ban you for even mentioning it. I highly recommend you buy the aircraft legitimately if you can - and if you can't, don't pirate it. Piracy is illegal, and not morally acceptable.

If you'll have a look at the change log for the latest version of this mod, I've stopped developing it because I've switched to MSFS 2024 and have been enjoying the iniBuilds A340-300 since, so unless someone else decides to develop the mod further, you're on your own from here on out. I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused by that.

There is one other reason why I haven't been working on it much, and that is the fact that I get a GPU driver timeout about 2 out of every 3 times when I try to load into the plane. I'm getting a new, much better computer soon, and hopefully that'll help with both of those issues and allow me to work on the mod with much less frustration and wasted time.

You have actually reduced it a bit in your modification but still, It feels like the side stick actually controls the pitch trim rather than the elevator which makes the airplane feels too sensitive with vertical control.
Could you please reduce the pitch sensitivity or adjust the elevator authority/stability so that pitch response feels more gradual and realistic? Ideally, small control inputs should result in gentle pitch changes instead of those sensitive nose movement.

If I can't figure out how to lower the sensitivity on the plane side, perhaps setting reduced sensitivity in your hardware settings would help? Just a thought.
Edit: I don't seem to be experiencing over-sensitivity to pitch commands on my end. Are you on FS'24? I know FS'24 has different flight dynamics from FS2020, and I can't test the mod in FS'24 because my computer can't run it.

Just so I know, does this work with the avionics or legacy version please?

Firstly, thank you for the mod. It works great.
Secondly, My Mom is an Air Traffic controller in Munich and quite interested in Flightsimming also. She wasnt allowed to be a pilot because of her bad eyesight. I showed her this performance fix, and she approved of this. She said, when I was flying the A343 near MTOW, that in real life when the plane is also heavy, they sometimes climb even slower than me with my 1100fpm at FL140

I felt like that performance seemed about right for a plane that's basically an A330-300 with a heavier MTOW but a lower maximum total thrust. I took a bunch of the parameters in the flight_model.cfg from the Headwind A330-900neo for that reason - its climb performance is almost as slow, highly realistic as far as I'm aware, and I figured it would be the best available starting point in terms of performance figures. I would've started with the config file from an A330-300 if there were a realistic one available in FS2020.
Also really neat to hear from people who are real-life pilots or ATCs, or who, like you, have relatives in those positions. It's interesting to hear/read the stories they might share. I've been kinda hoping a real A340 pilot might pop in here and be able to tell me how close my mod is to the real aircraft, performance-wise. No such luck yet though.

Time-wise, it would help a lot if I didn't have to relaunch the sim every time I make a change... haven't been working on it much lately because it's simply too time-consuming having to wait 10-20 minutes for the sim to restart every time.

I've heard FS2024's flight physics are significantly different from FS2020's, so if I were to venture a guess, I'd say this mod probably wouldn't work as-is... but I don't have the firsthand knowledge to make a definite assessment.

LVFR A340-300 Better Flight Dynamics
This mod gives the LVFR A340-300 a more realistic flight model, using some config options from the Headwind A330-900neo and a few custom tweaks.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This will be the final update for this mod from me, as I have mostly moved to MSFS2024 and am enjoying the iniBuilds A340-300. I highly encourage someone else to pick the mod up and continue developing it. Changelog: Legacy avionics version: REMOVED New avionics version: - Further adjusted flight dynamics and engine cfg values. Still not perfect, but I'm not really inclined to work on it anymore, so it's provided as-is.
