Addon Description: Mumbai Airport Slum Restoration for MSFS 2020 & MSFS 2024

Overview:
Experience a more immersive and realistic rendition of the area surrounding Runway 27 at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (VABB) with this addon, which replaces the default, overly sanitized urban landscape with an authentic recreation of the dense slum settlements that characterize the region.

Features:
✅ Authentic Slum Representation – The default modern and posh autogenerated scenery has been replaced with a densely packed slum environment, closely mirroring the real-world settlements near the airport.

✅ Diverse and Realistic Building Models – A mix of brick-metal slum houses, tarpaulin-covered shelters, and multilevel improvised structures, with PBR textures, each placed using randomized distributions to ensure a natural and organic feel.

✅ Procedural Object Placement – Over 26,000 mass placed slum buildings fill the region, following a custom randomization algorithm to reflect real-world densities and variations.

✅ Dynamic Scalability & Variation – Each structure features randomized scaling and small variations in rotation to avoid repetition and artificial patterns.

✅ Optimized for Performance - There is only a 4-5 FPS loss when using my mod in MSFS 2020 and only a 2 FPS loss in MSFS 2024. However, one can expect 5-10 seconds longer initial loading time when spawning in VABB in MSFS 2024 as it will render the entire area beforehand.

But there is a catch: The performance with instancing doesn't scale properly with different CPUs, so while I am getting a negligible loss in performance with my Ryzen 9 7940HS, your system can have a better or worse performance than me depending on your CPU specs

Why This Addon?
The default MSFS scenery near VABB Runway 27 does not accurately represent the true nature of Mumbai’s urban landscape. This addon corrects that by bringing back the realistic, chaotic, and vibrant character of the slum areas that define the approach to the airport—just like in real life.

Installation:
Simply select the version of the mod corresponding to your MSFS version and drag and drop the folder into your MSFS Community folder—no additional setup required!
