    Beschreibung

    Coburg-Steinruecken (EDQY) for MSFS 2024

This small airfield is located in northern bavaria (germany), 3.5km south of the airport Coburg-Brandensteinsebene (EDQC), so watch for their RMZ.

There's a grass runway (25/07) with a length of 700m, which is bumpy and has a lot of elevation changes in it (see on the screenshots).

A big GSM antenna is located only a few meters north of the airfield, which may help spotting the airfield during approach.

What's special about this airfield is a road, that's crossing the runway. There are traffic lights, that will keep traffic from crossing, while a take-off/landing is taking place.

There are 3 parking spots for a cold-and-dark state of your aircraft - two on the grass, one on the refueling area.

Runway starts exist as well but only RWY 25 is working.

Even if you select runway start 07, you end up on runway 25. I've done many sceneries for MSFS 2024 already and this seems to be a bug of the sim. I can't change that at the moment.  If I find a way to make it work it'll come in an update of the scenery.

This is not a simple port-over of my already existing scenery for MSFS 2020. Many things about this airfield has been re-made from scratch, espeially the real aircraft of the local flying club (Tecnam P92, Tecnam P96, Cessna 150 (Rotax), Diamond DA20, Piper PA-28).

Full discclosure: The hangars and the tower are default in MSFS 2024, but they looked good enough in order to keep them in the scenery, even though there's a typo on the hangar (STETEINRÜCKEN instead of STEINRÜCKEN)

    Changelog V1.1:

The Cessna 152 was causing a big, white "spike" 3D object in the middle of the Thueringer Wald.

In order to see 3D objects from a bigger distance (so no sudden "plop" into the scenery) the 3D object itself needs to be very wide. I usually place a very wide object (like a few hundred meters wide) around 1000m below the actual 3D object, so it cannot be seen, but still be recognized by the sim - the Cessna 152 in this case. I obviously made an error here and that's why it needs to be updated.

If you want your scenery to look like in the screenshots, additional files (dependencies) are needed.

    Installation:

Open the downloaded file and place the "chrispiaviation_steinruecken" folder inside your community folder, as well as all the dependencies mentioned above.

    Known issues:

Only runway start 25 is working (as already mentioned above).

Hallo. :-)

Please Update: The Cessna 152 was causing a white "spark" object in the Thueringer Wald. Shouldn't be there anymore with V1.1
