There is a wide misconception in flight simulation that a "checklist" would include each and every step of operating the aircraft. That is not the case, a checklist is used to verify the most important steps have been followed which might otherwise lead to unsafe situations. Before reading the checklist, the crew will perform the appropriate flow pattern by memory.
Note that in 2018 Airbus has changed their checklist design and removed any step from the checklist for which the aircraft has a warning (such as for example the packs after takeoff).
