Magdeburg–Cochstedt Airport (IATA: CSO, ICAO: EDBC) is located approximately 37 km southwest of Magdeburg. Ryanair and different charter airlines operated seasonal flights out of Magdeburg–Cochstedt from 2011 to 2013.

In 2015 it was used for test flights on behalf of DLR with Lufthansa MD-11 jets concerning noise reduction.

In 2019, the DLR (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt) purchased the entire airport to establish a testing facility for drones and helicopters. Since 2022, flight operations for small aircraft have started again.
