    Beschreibung

    The Tampere-Pirkkala Airport (EFTP) in Finland, about 160km north of Helsinki, is an international airport serving the region around the city of Tampere. This add-on brings the airport to life with custom buildings and objects, correct taxiway names and parking spots and much more. This new version is based on the previous EFTP scenery made by @kumihiiri but extensively redone and has lots of added custom buildings and objects.

    NOTE! Tested and working as such also in MSFS 2024.

    MAIN FEATURES

    • The civil side of the airport is true to real life, based on photographs and local knowledge
    • Most buildings on the civil side of the airport and other objects are custom modelled and extensively using PBR textures.
    • Runways, taxiways, aprons and markings have been enhanced
    • The taxiway network is complete, including markings and signs and correct taxiway names
    • A working fuel truck can be called through ground services
    • An animated gate between the B apron and the GA parking area opens automatically when you get close to it
    • Animated clocks on some buildings (showing the time set in the simulator)
    • Vegetation and heights have been adjusted on and around the airfield
    • The military side of the airport is modeled using MSFS default buildings and objects and based solely on satellite images

    Nice scenery. I just discovered that the gate don't open with some MSFS 2024 aircraft. I think this is an issue with the sim, because I also discovered that hide/unhide the yoke on some aircraft don't open/close hangar doors.

    Thanks for the comment. I haven't noticed this myself. Can you give an example of an aircraft that does not open the gate? Would be interesting to try it, but I doubt that I can find a solution in the airport scenery.

    I tried the C208B and it does not open the gate. I tried the C172 and it works. I also develop scenery and had just finished KMKC - 8 hangars with animated doors via time of day and hide/unhide the flight yoke. The C404 Titan yoke hide does not open doors. I also tried the C172 which work fine. These are the only two aircraft that I tested and have not found any issues in MSFS 2020

    Did you by chance use the C20B amphibian version? That one does not trigger the gate, but the at least the cargo version triggers normally. I am trying to find the reason, must be something in that specific airplane config...

    No I didn't try the amphibian version. I did read that it has something to do with the aircraft config. I wouldn't worry about it. I have started converting my scenery with animated doors to open via proximity. So far I have completed KPDK and KTRI, but I found bug in MSFS 2024 which causes the doors to re-trigger after the aircraft gets a certain distance from the hangar. The suggested fix was to remove the User tag from the script or change it to Anything but this don't work.

    Ok. Interesting, as the gates open for me in the other C208B versions but not in the amphibian.

    I haven't noticed re-triggering in my EFHN scenery - the hangar doors open when you get close enough and closes when you taxi away.

    I tried the amphibian and it didn't work for me in FS24. Also tried the 208B (no amphibian) in FS20 and it didn't work. I will say that this is a config issue. On the re-trigger, I have 3 hangars at booth airports. When I spawn at one hangar and use the drone to go to the other hangar across the runway the doors are open. The distance between the two are over 1300M. Not sure this is re-trigger, but being triggered at at a large distance. This does not happens in FS20 so this seems to be a no cap or large distance to not animate in FS24. I will try by removing one hangar to see if it happens. In the script I changed ObjectFilter User to Anything and it keeps the doors closed. The drawback to this is anything that moves inside the trigger area will open the doors and it don't work all the time. DistanceToNotAnimate in the sim.cfg would probably fix this but the 2024 SDK indicate that it's deprecated.

    FYI. I resolved the issues I hand in FS24 with the doors. Turned out to be LOD. I added a huge invisible cube around the doors to keep them from vanishing. Strange that these are the same doors that I used in the animation without the trigger and didn't need the cube.

    I hope this is fixed in the new update (2.3.24) that I just published. The height of the trigger area for the gate was too low and didn't pick up all airplanes!

    Tested C208B in FS20 and amphibian and passenger in FS24. The planes opens the gate in both sims.

    Nice. Better then payware Rudolf airport. What would be nice to improve parking lots somehow maybe in CGL high quality imagery ? Static airplanes and some ground vehicles could be added as well. There are freeware library to add it but that one would be nesessary to download separately but I see you know that using them in other airports. Also some textures are easy to improve like black roofs and to dark terminals comparing to real. I`m going to do it for myself. Anyway it is very good as freeware.

    Thanks. I will be working on an update as soon as I get new photos from the airport as there has been changes and repairs going on with the runway and surroundings during the summer. And I will add some static stuff (though not static aircraft as I do not want to interfere with traffic injectors such as SI or BeyondATC). There are already static GA planes if you have installed the recommended add-ons. You comment on too dark terminals is interesting - what is this based on? My building textures are based on on-site photographs.

    When I look at satelitte photographs all roofs semms to be grey not completly black, and so contrast colours doesn`t look well. Also tower has black roof. In project textures mapping can be applied and export to scenery library. If photoscenery is good enough can be used as parking and surrending area background instead off making it SDK that doesn`t look natural. I use Qgis to make photoscenery for small backgrudnd behind terminals. I don`t know how to make dirt layer based on sat imaginery to be applied on apron, taxiways and rynway but it is possible and look great. PS has to be used to erasae signs and make semi transparent layer. I saw it in some payware airports but usually developers use SDK textures and thats it. Waiting for update.

    Mitä siellä rakennetaan? Ilmeisesti 24 thr siirtyy hieman ja twy F suljetaan ja lähestymisvalot poistuu ja kiitotie nimetään 24C heinä/elokuun ajaksi jos tulkitsen oikein? Voisihan tuosta tehdä pikku tilapäinen päivitys mutta julkaisen siinä tapauksessa ainoastaan fsaddons.fi saitilla. Katsotaan miten aika riittää.
