Inibuilds a300-600 Nose gear "down look" compression mod (PFD level with horizon fix) - Image 1

    Beschreibung

This mod was created at the hopes this will be included in an update for the Inibuilds a300-600, (if not then do give my mod a try if you agree with my points)

The IRL a300 (both B4-200 and -600 variants) has a nose down look, a short nose gear which is very compressed on ground, this is to compensate with the nose up on speeding down the runway. However I have noticed that for some time, the nose gear that inibuilds have done does not include this feature and is rather decompressed slightly when at rest on the ground, even with full load. My original assumption was modeling or animation howveer found upon close inspection it is not. I did remember one thing, I am very good with gear compression work and modifying the values of the contact points going back to the days of FS2004, FSX/P3D days. I am also responsible for the gear compression of an up and coming airbus product for microsoft flight simulator (not inibuilds). So if that doesn't say anything about this mod then I don't know what will.

The installation process is rather simple but also a bit tedious for those who would like to revert back. In the download of this file is a folder structure that is made in such a way that a drag and drop is all that is nessecary, however if you would like to revert at any point back to the original files, do look for them in the same folder structure and make coppies of them before installing this mod. Simple installation, drag and drop the Inibuilds-aircraft-a300-600 folder into your community folder and replace the files. ( this mod modifies the nose gear compression for the GE and PW pax and Freighter, AKA all variants )

Next thing to do is enjoy!

If at any point Inibuilds would like to test and use this in their future updates of this aircraft, do feel free to do so with credits please, I have spent quite a bit of time having to reload and load into the sim a few times and testing different weights and I also made sure to solve the issue 100% tested of the bouncing on certain weights and brake pressure applied at different speeds. From my rigorous testing, this does not exist.

Hi, could you do it for the Msfs 2024 PREMIUM A300 freighter as well?
This one does not work in 2024 for the PREMIUM A300.
    The following would be great:
    -nose gear (compression more down)
    -slightly raise the main gear
    -modification of wing flex

    Thanks,
    Chrisd

Could you please make this compatible with the 2024 version? Thanks

I like the attention to details that this mod brings thanks !
I took a ride to compare this mod with the UPS A300 picture you used. The nose down attitude is still not as much as the real one. If you look at the Honeywell PFD picture provided by Chris85flyCessna, pixel per pixel, the pitch attitude is -1.1 degree instead of -0.6. Will doubling the angle really change the look ?

Oh and one more thing regarding the front landing gear ! Many people reported the yaw axis being too sensitive/twitchy at high speed. To my surprise I found that iniBuilds kept the steering angle of 65 degrees up to 178kts which is obviously unrealistic. I dialed down the value and the issue was gone. It is weird iniBuilds did not see this easy fix.

Thank you for your work! Love the attention to detail. Does it work with the 2024 version?

not yet tried this, likely not, but do let me know if it does. I have not have a chance to give 2024 a shot yet until it is stable and more widely used.

Should be done now, new drag and drop support now implemented and slightly raised main gear and slightly modified wing flex to better match the real one that isn't drooping as much as it does in sim on the ground. Enjoy :)

Works great! Just flew the PW Pax variant, no bouncing or other issues. Many thanks for creating this!

I did one flight so far, it seems to work (no bouncing) but unfortunately the front wheels are too deep in the ground right now, it´s not that much but you can see it. Maybe you can take a look at it. Anyway, thank you for the mod since inibuilds are not going to update this...https://forum.inibuilds.com/topic/22201-nose-down-look/?do=findComment&comment=54089

I did see this and in my version I solved that issue. at least on my end it appears to be correct and not sinking in the ground as shown in the photos on that forum, I made it such that the tire sits on the ground but with maybe (if were talking cm) a few cm in the ground as to make it so the tire looks like its got air and not a solid object. if you used my values, do send some screenshots in dm and ill have a look and compare to my side what the issue is.

Inibuilds a300-600 Nose gear "down look" compression mod (PFD level with horizon fix)

This add-on addresses the nose gear compression of the Inibuilds A300-600, replicating the real-life nose-down stance of the aircraft when on the ground. It modifies the contact points to achieve a more accurate visual representation of the nose gear, ensuring proper appearance and functionality across all variants. The installation is straightforward, involving a drag-and-drop process into the community folder, with options for users to revert to the original files if needed. Extensive testing has confirmed the mod eliminates bouncing issues associated with weight and braking.

    Versionsgeschichte

After some re-work and multiple testing, I have raised the main gear slightly as well. This should look like a more authentic look of the A300-600. This update is now a drag and drop without the need of any file modifications. This file also modifies the wing flex of the A300 as well as on the ground the A300 wings do not droop down as much as it has been made to be in sim. The IRL aircraft wing flex is more flat on the ground and not so significant in the air either to my research. This should be a more authentic flight model now.
