    The Fairey Swordfish gained fame during World War II for its pivotal role in several key naval engagements, despite being an outdated biplane by the war's start. It was instrumental in the attack on the Italian fleet at Taranto, marking the first significant use of torpedo bombers in naval warfare, and played a crucial role in crippling the German battleship Bismarck, leading to its eventual sinking. Known for its durability, versatility, and the ability to carry various weapons, the "Stringbag" proved indispensable throughout the war, performing missions like torpedo bombing, anti-submarine warfare, and reconnaissance, earning its place as a legendary aircraft in military aviation history.

     

    originally developed for FSX/P3D by Flying Stations/Bravo Zulu this aircraft is now available as a fully converted native addon.

     

    Features:

    • High-Quality Model: Retains the detailed design from the original Flying Stations/Bravo Zulu creation, converted to native GLTF format on the inside and outside.
    • Upscaled liveries: All liveries upscaled to 4K from the original FSX addon.
    • Functional Cockpit: Fully functional cockpit with working instruments and controls.
    • Historical Accuracy: Features and design elements that reflect the original aircraft, such as multiplayer visible wing folding (operated by the knob on the upper wing) and tailhook animations.

    The keybinds are the same for all my other aircraft which fly normally.I have just done a couple of flights and got it down in one piece but boy,it is hard work.

    All my other aircraft fly normally.I have just started a flight from Sherburn,where they were built.The plane was on the runway but upside down and half submerged in the ground.I restarted and managed to get airborne but the plane was porpoising violently.I got the plane down,but two further flights resulted in it peeling over and diving into the ground.In 1944 coming home from school,and passing the Blackburn factory in Leeds,I saw 12 Swordfish coming toward me at about 200 feet and in line abreast,The next day,same time same place there were 16 of them wing tip to wingtip.I can not recall any mention of it in local papers.Years later I thought it was probably a flypast for the workers to mark the end of production.

    Interesting you are experiencing porpoising as we've had no other reports of this 🤔

    Can you confirm the following;

    Keybinds - You do not have any additional keys bound to trim that could be interfering with your main keybind

    Joystick deadzones are set to 0 - Porpoising can often be a result of pilot induced oscillations PIO and deadzones play a large factor in this.

    Thanks,I deleted from Community and Downloads folders.I have Modern selected now and it is not displaying the hair raising effects,but is still almost impossible to fly.I will work on the CH settings to try for improvement.

    Can you be more specific as to why you find it impossible to fly?

    :ooks great,but sadly I have no control over it.I cannot get it to lift off the runway.If I start in th e air it loops,rolls ,stalls,does vertical climbs and dives at 5000 feet in 4 seconds! the screen goes black and all I can do is switch off and reboot.it is worse with the latest update.I start in the air and it is rotating at very high speed about its fore and aft axis.It goes off the screen and reappears flying backwards at 300 mph.The noise is horrendous and like a dying pig.I do not know if I need a computer expert or an exorcist.It is scary.I would love to have it working,there are so few aircraft of that era available.I use CH yoke and pedals,and all my other aircraft fly normally.

    Can you confirm the following:

    1 - Did you remove all previous files when updating? Have you attempted a fresh install?

    2 - You have the Modern Flight model selected in the options?

    3 - Do you use any kind of assists?

    Excellent improvement. It's a fun flying vintage aircraft. Thankyou for your work. You've definitely "tamed" the beast on landing. It's most manageable now with rudder/brake tweaking. The aileron roll is vastly improved and the sounds are good. I don't know if the real one has it or not, but would it be possible to add a VSI? Would be very useful in hand flying cross country. Very good addon and looking forward to any of your improvements. If you're planning on the Fury, wow.. can't wait.
