    Explore the large turquoise lakes of Otago, New Zealand before heading over to Milford Sound on this classic tourist scenic flight. This trip starts out in sleepy Hawea, climbing above the lake then over to Lake Wanaka. From Wanaka you will head up the Cardona Valley & over the Crown Range into Queenstown. Fly slow & low up the Kawarau & Shotover Rivers with sights of Coronet Peak before emerging right over Queenstown. Watch out for paragliders as you cruise past the Skyline Gondola up Lake Wakatipu to Glenorchy, famous for mutiple movie scenes. From there you will make your way up river and over a mountain range to check out some huge glaciers. The West Coast will now be visible on your right hand side as you fly over many valleys and mountains scattered with lakes. Start your descent into picturesque Milford Sound for a cruisy ending to your journey. 

    This amazing five leg bush-trip will take you through 6 airfields, including paved & grass runways. Landings will be easy with some fun approaches. I've tried to include some local knowedge about the area based on local flights I have been on.

    Great adventure. I know the area well so navigating was pretty easy till I entered the mountains! Great route into Milford.

    Enjoying it so far but hit a bug at NZQT - after landing it doesn't recognise that I am at the airport. When I select back on track it wants me to go to POI20 then POI21 which is not shown on the flight route.

    Any suggestions? Been fortunate to fly this area IRL so would like to complete this.

    Good to hear! Are you landing at Queenstown International Airport? If so I didn't actually create a stop there. Thought it was to mainstream for a bush trip. bank right & follow the Shotover river up & around Queenstown Hill. Then across the township, Kelvin Heights and look for the grass airstrip used by NZONE for skydiving. Its at the foot of the Remarkable's Range. Good Luck!!

    Thanks for the quick reply. I did land at Queenstown itself then went on to strip so that might have caused the issue. Fixed it using Dev mode by restarting and using dev mode to move through the airports to the Remarkables range and was able to complete it landing into Milford just now. Brought back some very happy memories so thank you!

    For the less knowledgable such as myself what does a "bush trip" comprise off please if it is not just a flight plan?

    Description is a bit vague as to what your file actually adds. Is there improved landclass, mesh. different clours etc etc if additional airfields, which ones? or is it just a flight plan? Thank you.
