Just a quickie that was a request from someone that I've now finished, or run out of enthusiasm for for now. I thought I may as well put this up here for anyone else suffering in silence.
This addresses KDFW's bizarre lack of night lighting where it actually counts - where you turn up in your plane. Considering the effort that went into it it's a bit strange they forgot that.
This has several hundred new light sources dotted all over. Parking spaces are lit as are the surrounding buildings. Outlying areas also have been lit up as well.
I may have missed a fair few spots but I think I got most. There are proper light poles at the aircraft parking spaces. The rest are a combination of street lights and floating lights.
May you never get lost again.
V 1.1
As requested KMSP Minneapolis and KBWI Baltimore have been lit up. These are in the second download and are combined with KDFW in one file and I'll add more airports to that second file. I presume some will only want KDFW or have mods for the others already.
I've also added KPIT Pittsbrugh and should have taken out the stupid beacon there. I won't officially update this on here every addition or it might spend its life irritating people with notifications.
They're quick and dirty but there is plenty of light. If you have a request of your own let me know with a comment. It might not be pretty and I might not get it done for a while but I'll see what I can do. I'll try to keep light placements in realistic locations but don't toss your cookies if you see a mistake. It'll only be for parking areas.
Maybe this should be open sourced or something.

What DFW is this for? This is clearly not default MSFS2020 airport.

The Asobo hand crafted one which as far as I know still doesn't have any of its own light. Seems like a large oversight.
No reason why this won't fit the non handy one too. Most things will be in the same place.

Does this have any performance impact?

There shouldn't be any problem. It's just a bit of light and there are many brighter places. It's objects that have performance impact and there aren't a great deal in this.

Can you separate these by airport? I really like the DFW/MSP lights but I have other sceneries for BWI/PIT and am seeing double lights there.

I will have to open up the files and take a look.
I'd probably need to duplicate the projects and go to each airport and manually delete everything. I'll look into in the day or two.

I extracted to the community folder but the lights dont work still. Any ideas?

Is the folder name in your community folder definitely - 'kdfw-light'
It should show up if it's that folder. This site can bury folders inside others sometimes which you may not notice when downloading.

Another great MOD. It seems to work with SU7 Looks great from the air.

Good to know.
My mind is blown that they still haven't done anything with this. Fixing such a howler would take probably around 1/1000th of the time it took to create the airport.

The latest SU5 update overwrites this mod. I miss the lights again. Please fix it. Thanks!!

Just given it a quick recompile so try downloading again. It shows up for me. Let me know if it doesn't for you.

Thanks man! It works.

Cool. I wonder what happened there as it's just standard items that have remained the same. I even more wonder why they haven't lit it up themselves yet.
