This folder contains a repaint for the Douglas DC-3 from the 40th anniversary pack. It shows DC-3 N431HM in its Swissair-like colors. Delivered to the USAAF as 42-24133 in 1943, it became NC65266 in 1947, NC6K in 1948, N6K after 1948, N88Y in 1965, N88YA in 1974 and G-BMCR then back to N88YA 1985. It went to Classic Air as HB-ISC in 1986, then to Verein der Freunde der Swissair in 2001 and was registered N431HM in 2010. Repaint by JanKees.

Your link to the photo of the N-431HM shows a painting that SWISS AIR LINES or Swissair never had. The original SWISS AIR LINES never saw a DC-3 with this livery and this identification in flight operations.
The association, Friends of Swissair, restored a DC-3 in cooperation with JU-Air. The club was active from 2004 to 2006. Your restored DC-3 was the last DC-3 with almost original SWISS AIR LINES livery.

Unfortunately, this painting of the N-431HM does not belong to the legacy of SWISS AIR LINES or Swissair.

But it was N431HM I painted, and not a Swissair DC-3, so saying my paint was not even close to the real thing is not correct. If you want HB-IRA, I might do that, but that was not the objective here.

With all due respect to your work, the painting is very far removed from the original. The lettering SWISS AIR LINES and the aircraft identification on the fuselage are missing. The identification was also used on the top and bottom of the wings. Please fix it.

I know, but there is no paintkit and I had to make do with the default textures. I tried to polish it more, but not enough apparently...
