Originally built as a C-47A-80-DL (SN 19871) and purchased by US Airlines (YV-C-ARA) before being sold to brazilian Nacional Transportes Aereos (PP ANL), airline that was then absorbed by Real Aerovias, that used a special bare metal livery mentioning the former operator in its fuselage during 1956, as depicted here.
Real Aerovias was one of the biggest operator of the DC-3s in the world with a total of 88 aircrafts at it´s peak.
After Real Aerovias was on its turn sold to Varig, the PP ANL flew for few more years in Brazil until she was then sold to Equador in 1965, where she suffered an accident in 1971 and put out of service.

Thanks mate, hope I can do some different version of Real in the future, they sure have a lot of variations! Hope you eat a empadinha after landing!
Douglas DC-3 - Real Aerovias
Douglas DC-3 Real - Nacional PP - ANL. Real flew in these colours for some time after the merge with Nacional in still a bare metal based livery that was not used for too long. Real is famous for having almost no consistency on the artwork of it´s aircraft, combined with one of the biggest world fleet of the time makes an exciting and deperation job when researching for references.

Douglas DC-3 - Varig
With the aqcquisition of Real in 1961 and the closure of Panair do Brasil in 1965, Varig became the main operator of the DC-3s in Brazil and latin america, being the backbone of the national operations linking the country in many less prepared fields and long sequential flights, with a excellent safety historic for it´s era.

Douglas DC-3 - Vasp
VASP operated in total 30 DC-3s from 1946 until 1974, unfortunatelly 15 of them where lost in accidents with the loss of many lives. Here i present a collection in most of the liveries used by the Sao Paulo airline; the bare metal in the 50s on the PP-SQH, the Dakota that flew with a white rudder in the late 60s, the classic blue rudder livery in the PP-SQJ and finally the PP-SQK with the last livery that included the Rondon Project symbol, then Vasp has contracted to link the amazon cities to the southeast and Brasilia trransporting passagengers and goods to the area.

Douglas DC-3 - Panair do Brasil
Here depicted is the PP-PCU in the classic Panair do Brasil livery. Originally Pan American NC79001, it was transfered to Panair in 1947 where it was nicknamed "Bandeirante Pedro Vaz de Barros" following the tradition (Panair´s Callsign was Bandeirante, also included in this model). It was sold then in 1958 to N.A.B.
