(S45) Siletz Bay State Airport, Oregon coast, US.
Siletz Bay State Airport (S45) is located on the beautiful central Oregon coast in Gleneden Beach Oregon, which is between Newport and Lincoln City, OR. The takeoffs and landings here are a thrill since there are trees lining both sides of the runway. And what is more exciting than flying along the picturesque Oregon coast.
This is my first attempt in learning the software/scenery development kit (SDK) built into MSFS2020 and redoing an airport. I originally got interested in learning this since I wanted to fix the terrible default tower/beacon at (S45). I did this project for my own enjoyment, but decided to share it with everyone else.
UPDATE: version 1.10
Version 1.10 corrects major issues created by sim update 5 (SU5). These fixes include,
1) Replaced deleted buildings and scenery.
2) Removed new trees at both ends of the runway.
3) In the process I adjusted the beacon light so that it now is at the top of the tower beacon, instead of floating above it.
4) added some more static objects.
Improvements: version 1.0
1) Removed and replaced huge and out of place default tower/beacon.
2) Added all buildings including hangers, assorted other structures, people and scenery.
3) Removed default fuel truck and fuel parking, since the real airport does not have this.
4) Removed and replaced parking taxiway to its current location.
5) Repositioned the windsock to its correct spot.
6) Put aircraft parking spots to the correct location and orientation.
7) Placed the correct number of hangers and other buildings and objects in their proper location.
8) In order to make many of the above improvements, not only did I have to do scenery but in the process I had to redo the whole airport including runway, taxiways, aircraft parking, etc.
To make this a simple and easy install, all the enhancements I've done use only the default objects, buildings etc. built into the SDK/MSFS2020.
Unzip the downloaded file and put the folder "mycompany-airport-siletz-bay-state" and place it into your FS2020 Community folder. Once installed, the airport will be highlighted with a star in the FS2020 "world map".
Extras:Features I added that are not at the real airport. I did this as part of my learning curve of the SDK and to test the runway and taxiways. You can chose to use them or not.
1) Airport has ATC ground and tower service.
2) ILS landing from runway 17. Tune your nav radio to 114.00.

Comparing the screenshots between ORBX and this, the ORBX version actually looks out of date as it's missing the large hangar (belongs to the biplane rides company I believe?) in the northwest corner of the main ramp. This scenery includes it so it seems more up to date with reality (I've visited S45 in real life this past summer and the hangar was there).

I am not surprised. Maybe ORBX will update it? Nah. This freeware version is great.

Wow! Thanks! I used to live in South Beach south of Newport and would very much welcome any enhancements to the scenery there, especially the Waldport and Newport bridges. There's another small airport that I fly out of that was right near my house on highway 1, but the default one in MSFS is close enough. Thanks again!

Glad you and others have enjoyed this (S45) and Newport Municipal airport enhancements. Don't tell anyone, but with the pleasure I've giving people with these improvements, it has giving me encouragement to start working on Florence Municipal (6S2).

I am going to give it five stars because its great!....but i already have the payware ORBX version (which is amazing in my opinion) but this is great freeware.
Take no offense but I will stick with the payware version since I already have it but this is good freeware stuff. Leave a place for donations. We should encourage development. Especially more in Oregon!
