When Founded it was awarded Air Mail Contract #4 in the United States. Originally started as Western Air Express, the airline merges with Transcontinental Air Transport to become Transcontinental and Western Airways or TWA in 1928. In 1937 it split from TWA and merged with National Park Airways to become Western Air Express, and then in 1941 it changed its name to Western Air Lines and then finally Western Airlines. Using the callsign WALxxxx and answering to ATC on the radio as 'Western'

Use the PMDG Operations center to install the livery using the Livery Utilities section and Import from PTP file

This livery no longer works. It has had the update kiss of death and shows up covered with the pink & purple polka dots. This was a personal favorite of mine. I can tell much talent and love went into creating this livery. Hopefully it can be corrected. It would be a shame if this work of art goes to waste.

It works just fine if you fix the texture.cfg file. PMDG altered the way the paints are seen / located, so it will show up pink if you don't fix the texture.cfg I have done that, but for some reason I cannot get Western or Northwest Orient to export to a PTP file. In the meantime, make the fix by hand and I will keep trying to export them so I can update them both Stay tuned

Would you please consider doing Northwest Airlines? My Dad was a Northwest pilot and flew the DC-6 for a few years. I rode with him in the cockpit a few times and it was fascinating to watch everything.

You've made a couple of great liveries with this and your Reeve, but please, oh pretty please do a Northwest Airlines one! My Father was a mechanic with NWA, and worked on the 6B a lot! I flew on them frequently too!

I just downloaded and had the same problem with the pink livery. Just replace the "texture.cfg" file contents to look like this:

fallback.1=..\..\PMDG DC-6B\texture.vc
fallback.2=..\..\PMDG DC-6B\texture.common
The file should be in your community folder ie..:
C:\Users\your_login\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community\pmdg-aircraft-dc6-liveries\SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG DC-6B Western AirlinesPassenger (N93138 - 1958)
