I proudly present to you: EDWF Leer-Papenburg Airfield, Germany, the first airfield of FlyByGuy-Scenery.

The airfield is located at the river Ems in Leer-Nüttermoor and consists of one runway (1200m x 20m), 2 taxiways and 6 hangars, fueling station, runway and taxiway lighting system and precicision landing system (PAPIs).

Do you fancy a trip to the East Frisian Islands?
The distance to the beautiful East Frisian Islands is only around 15 minutes by plane. The Leer-Papenburg airfield is therefore the perfect starting point for both VFR planes and business jets.

All of the buildings are custom modeled and reproduced from photos taken at the airfield, even small details are integrated and waiting for you to be discovered. Markings, Taxiway and runway lighting has been recreated according to real-life and the PAPIs have been added, too.
Static objects, People and hangar doors do react to daytime and weather.

When talking about Papenburg, one thing that must not be missing is the famous Meyer-Werft (Meyer shipyard) at Papenburg. It consists of huge production halls and drydocks. Its "Dockhalle 2" is the third largest shipbuilding hall and the building with the fifth-largest usable space in the world (504m x 125m x 75m). This shipyward was added to the scenery too, and from now on offers flight enthusiasts a very good reference point for VFR navigation due to its well known silouette, which can be seen from afar.
