    Beschreibung

This is my first attempt at building some POI content for West Cornwall and includes a number of models, such as:

    Goonhilly Earth Station

The castle on St. Michael's Mount

A number of lighthouses and navigation marks.

The Jubilee Pool and St Anthony's Gardens in Penzance.

    The Minack Theatre

    Pendennis and St Mawes Castles

    *** New features ***

Over the next few weeks I'll be adding a number of Cornish mine and engine house sites

It's a work in progress that I intend to post further updates over the coming weeks

Have fun flying around this beautiful county :-)

I've enjoyed using this but now it seems to cause chasms around Mullion post Sim Update 16 which disappear if this add on is not present.

(subsequent to this post I've tried it again, and I'm not sure this scenery is responsible after all... trying to work out the culprit!)

lighthouses are non-solid - so you can't land on the helipads :(

Also wolf rock lighthouse has a duplicate right next to it

Hi any news on the double lighthouses? I can't find any duplicate folders so I'm hoping it's just the package?

This addon is creating two identical lighthouses next to each other at Wolf Rock.

I did message Superspud about the Longships lighthouse conflict with his St. Mary scenery quite some time ago, but unfortunately I did not get a response, but he does seem to be very willing to help other devs and is known to have taken steps to avoid conflicts. It is always good when devs communicate and work together to solve problems. I am sure that I speak for many others when I say that we truly appreciate all these addons and the work involved. Personally I would have given up on MSFS long ago if it were not for the addons that enhance the experience, but I do not think that is up to end users to mediate between developers.

From an end user perspective the best option would be to have the conflicting areas separated into optional items so that we can pick and choose what to install. I have noticed that this has been done with some other developers addons in similar situations.

I've about 40+ models in this package so I'm afraid that's not going to happen. I manage this in my spare time as a free download and it's not what I intended this to be. As long as the packages you download have exclusion rectangles around those areas and you manage the order in which they load, you can combine them in which ever way you like. Until the SIM has some added capabilities, this is probably the best compromise between users and those dedicating their time to create content

I, and I suspect many other people, have no idea how to do what you suggest as we are not developers. Only three conflicting objects have been mentioned here, Longships lighthouse, Goonhilly Earth Station, and St. Micheals Mount. Other than that we are all good to go.

St Michael's by mv46 has been updated and is now compatible if you load it after this mod.

    I agree.

In this case I also think it would be great if you could take out Goonhilly and Longships. The mods by Superspud and Puffin already include those, and they are well-modelled as well. Kind of would be the best of both worlds

Other idea: offer a second version with the three POIs missing. Many devs offer different versions if there are conflicts.

    Many thanks for you work.

I have to say I agree with the others here. It's great that you've made all these models and I'd love to use them but because they clash with the three other add ons I had to uninstall. Working with other developers to avoid conflicts will get more people downloading and appreciating what you have made.

    Q

I can make this compatible with other mods by including Exclusion Rectangles around each area and I'll do that over the next few releases. However, it's a moving target if others keep creating add-ons that conflict. If you guys can reach out to these developers and ask them to do the same, then we can manage those conflicts. As long as this loads before the others, you will get the best of both worlds.

Glad to hear you are working on fixing the potential conflicts. I uninstalled your add-on last year when an excellent model of St Michael's Mount was put up but it would be great to have the rest of your landmarks.

    Q

It may be worth reaching out to the developer of that plugin and see if he has added an Exclusion Rectangle around the mount. From what I see I believe that would help as long as his addon loaded after mine. I'll test later this week with it myself. Just working on a model for the Pendeen Lighthouse to add and some more of the antennae at Goonhilly

Thanks, glad your back on this, thought this add-on had died. The mines and engine sites will be awesome. Building up the harbours in St Ives and Penzance would be great too. I love flying around Cornwall.

Please remove St Michaels Mount or make it a separate file. There is a superior standalone version available on this site already. EDIT: the other version has now been updated to be compatible :)
