    Beschreibung

    A representation of Fort Smith Regional Airport located in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Unfortunately I've never seen an accurate representation of this airport in a flight simulator. After navigating my way through Blender for the first time I'm fairly happy with what I've accomplished. In addition to 3D google earth buildings for the Air National Guard section of the airport, this scenery includes hand modeled tower, hangars, terminals, and more. Along with custom night lighting on certain buildings I feel that this file really captures the look of the airport. 

     

    To install, simply drag the folder titled 'mycompany-fort-smith-regional-airport-kfsm' into your 'Community' folder and you should be good to go.

    Any chance we could get a FS2024 update of this AMAZING scenery? You have done a truly terrific job with KFSM. Thank you!

    Very good representation of this airport - though it is becoming a little outdated now (TAC air has become signature now - though honestly, I prefer having TAC Air in the scenery.)

    I've tested with both MSFS 2020 and 2024, and it seems to be working well with both.

    Exceptional representation of my hometown/hometown airport. I would love to see some work in the Van Buren area myself, in regards to one of your comments. Definitely interested in any work you post!

    I did my flight training here back in high school. It's great to finally have it represented properly in a flight sim.

    As someone from Fort Smith, I can't believe we FINALLY have a good representation of our humble little airport in a flight sim! It looks incredible, and performance is great, if not a little better than the default scenery! And not to mention, the terrain issue around the Leigh Avenue/Southside High School area has been fixed! I think the only thing I might suggest is changing the Runway 07/25 surface material so that it's a lighter color, just like in the real world.

    Just did a hop up there in the CJ4. This is amazing work. Keep it up. Any change you consider tackling KROG? It's were walmart keeps their lears and I work there. Pretty simple airport

    Thank You fsav8r! Great job with the terminal and ANG areas. Now that you have some Blender experience, how do you feel about doing the downtown area? My wife is buried in the Nat. Cem. and the Fort Smith National Historic Site is well known. I'd love to see a good representation of Garrison Ave. with the art and even Miss Laura's.

    Thank you! I've thought about trying to convert Google buildings for the entire Fort Smith/Van Buren area but I'm not sure if I'm quite ready to attempt something so expansive yet. At the moment I'm trying to decide what airport I want to try and model next. I'm going back and forth between Little Rock National Airport or Northwest Arkansas National Airport. After that I'll probably return to add more to the Fort Smith area.

    Wow! What a great accomplishment! Is there dining at the airport proper? Looking for $100 hamburger destinations!

    I'm from Fort Smith. The last time I was in the terminal there was no hamburgers or dinning available. It is a relatively small facility with two regional commercial airlines making a flight each day - but that was back in 2018. FSM used to host a National Guard unit, but that has since moved to Fayetteville. There are some good BBQ and other restaurants nearby and Uber works the area. There is a cab company in Fort Smith but I recommend Uber if you fly there. Fort Smith is at the foot of the Ozarks and the area is very scenic.
