American Airlines is a longstanding legacy US carrier, with an iconic livery that should not need much introduction. During the 1980s, American Airlines and rival TWA started to compete on domestic routes and both chose the McDonnell-Douglas MD-80 as their solution to ensuring cheap domestic fairs.

In the early 2000s, TWA would be acquired by American Airlines and their MD80 fleets combined, leading to American having the largest single fleet of MD80 series aircraft in the world. 

This pack of MD80s gives you two options for both variants; two MD82s and two MD83s. 

N262AA - An MD82 that was delivered new to American Airlines in 1985, staying in the fleet until 2011 when it was scrapped. For a time in its career it sported a partially black nose cone.

N485AA - An MD82 that was delivered new to American Airlines in 1988, staying in the fleet until 2016. Fun fact, this registration is now worn by a Daher TBM960 as of 2023.

N971TW - An ex-TWA MD-83 acquired by American Airlines after the merger in 2002. It flew for AAL until 2019, when it was parked in Roswell. More recently, it has been acquired by an unknown operator and been ferried to at least Addis Ababa. It is likely it will be ferried past sanctions to Iran.

N9628W - An ex-TWA MD-83 acquired by American Airlines after the merger in 2002. It flew for AAL until 2019, when it was parked in Roswell. It has been acquired by Jetran in 2023 and is expected to be parted for spares or scrap.
