Morón Air Base is a major installation of the Spanish Air Force and hosts a permanent presence of the United States Air Force. Strategically positioned in southern Spain, it serves as a key NATO and transatlantic mobility hub between Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

Originally constructed in the 1940s and expanded during the Cold War, Morón has long supported joint Spanish–U.S. operations. Today, it plays a critical role in rapid deployment missions, strategic airlift, aerial refueling operations, and contingency response. The base is also home to units of the Ejército del Aire y del Espacio, and frequently receives visiting aircraft including C-17s, C-5s, KC-135s, A400Ms, and various NATO assets. 

With its long runway and extensive ramp space, Morón is particularly well known for heavy airlift and tanker activity.

Currently, Moron is hosted by the Spanish Air Force 11th Wing, flying the Eurofighter Typhoon, as well as the 22 group, soon to be equipped with the Airbus C-295W ASW. The USAF 496th ABS is also located in Morón, providing support for transient, airlift and deployments stopping at the facility. USAF Bomber Task Forces are a somewhat common sight every year.
