Beta 0.10
Descrizione

Description
The purpose of this livery is to remember the very important work done by the 8th flight group for the safety of air transport, operating in all NATO national and foreign airports also with the PD088MM, the Macchi Emb 339, and with the C47 Skytrain until the year 1984.
Description
This is a beta version waiting to be able to have a paintkit, entirely handmade by working on the default livery of the DC3 Microsoft. Unfortunately because of this there are small unresolved graphic gaps since I still don't know how to use Blender well and I performed with pain.net the reconstruction of the livery from scratch based on the photographs that I was able to collect. I will try as soon as possible to correct them and give a perfect image of the C47 14-45 of the 8th flight group, radioomisure of the Italian Air Force
A BIT OF HISTORY
The C47 Skytrain in Italy
Given the abundance of post-war allied war residuals, the DC-3 was also present in Italy, going to equip airlines such as the Italian air services company, Lai, Itavia, or the Avio Italian lines.
The C-47 was used in 40 specimens as VIP transport for General Staff officers, as a aircraft for training for multi-immers and as an electronic countermeasures platform. The Italian Air Force made it extensive use (71st GE group). The Argo 16 aircraft was also in use at the SID which fell into Marghera on 23 November 1973.
The C-47 employed by the AMI 14-45 M.M. 61766 on which I flew from 1980 to 1983 as a flight of the flight, is now on display in the Hangar "Badoni" of the Historical Museum of the Air Force, in Vigna di Valle. Others are awaiting restoration at the Rimini aviation theme park, which already houses a DC-3 (ex R4D) belonging, among other things, to Clark Gable. Recently, the DC-3 N8383 has been filled and placed at the entrance of the Turin-Caselle airport as Garte Guardian, with the colors of the Lai and serial number i-Leon. Another was acquired in spring 2012 by the Volandia Park.
The C47 of the 8th Radiomisure Group
The flight Group, after various and long vicissitudes, was reconstituted on 1 June 1976 to the airport of Pratica di Mare being assigned to the new radio measures specialty, or the task of verifying the functioning of all radio assistance in Italy and abroad as the vor , Ils, Tacan etc, who placed it at the forefront in the field of the Vipon. Passing to various planes, including the C-47 and the PD-808 and the G222 RM.
The 8th flight group has also been assigned to verify the reliability of all types of radio assistance present in the Italian territory using aircraft precisely the C47, Alenia G.222rm, and PD 808 to the performance of electronic intelligence missions with the aircraft Alenia G.222VS These specialties were sold to the cousins of the 71st flight group.

Awesome livery, and so cool that you have a history with the real plane! I saw this plane when I visited Italy and went to the amazing air museum a few years ago.
As far as the decompression problem that @lbsfsxbelgium reported, I think the problem is the incredibly long file name of the zip file, and the folder contained within it. Trying to download the file with Windsailor, it actually crashes the browser. I had to go back and manually download it with Edge. I imagine the long folder name could also cause issues with some Zip utilities.
If you could update this with a shorter Zip file name, and a shorter folder name within, it should solve these issues.

Yep, I just tried to view one of the images in the zip and got a filename length error from Windows when I double-clicked it. It's the combination of the long zip name and the long folder name, pushing over the limit even with long filenames enabled in Windows.
