Beginning
The Marília Air Taxi was founded in 1961, founded by ten pilots of single-engine aircraft. At the time, they were transporting cargo and passengers in Paraná, São Paulo and Mato Grosso. [4] After six years the group was bought by businessman Orlando Ometto and had its head office transferred to São Paulo, initiating the transportation of pouches. [5]
In 1971, Commander Rolim Amaro, who had previously worked for the company in its foundation, was invited by Orlando Ometto to be a minority partner of the company, with 33% of the shares. [6] The following year, the pilot acquires half of the shares and takes over the direction of the company. In 1976 the company was called only TAM, when Rolim held 67% of the capital. The service turned to the interior of São Paulo, Paraná and Mato Grosso. [7]
