KANE - Anoka County Blaine Airport (a.k.a.Janes Field)
Anoka county airport is a regional airport in Blaine, Minnesota. It is one of the reliever airports in the north metro area of the twin cities which receives primarily General Aviation aircraft with a handful of charter jets to the Lynx FBO on the north ramp. It also is currently a base for a small cargo company which flies twin piston aircraft around the area.
In the base sim, this airport suffers (like others) from a lack of buildings; namely all it has is the control tower and nothing else. This scenery adds random generic hangars to the airport to match the ground positions of the missing buildings. Also fixed in this scenery are the taxiway names and signs (many of which I modeled from my personal photos from the airport). I also corrected the incorrect VASI and PAPI lights which were incorrect/missing as well. Taxiway lighting was updated as well. The radio com frequencies and instrument approaches were not modified as the instrument approaches all appeared correct from a quick visual scan. I put in the observation area as well as I personally have many hours spent at that location and thought it deserved to be added as well.
As mentioned, I have used stock hangars and objects to create this scenery. I will have another upload in which I used Google Earth Decoder to add a some of the buildings which I do not know how to model. If you would like that version of the scenery, please go to my other upload and install it. If you prefer to not have the google maps objects, then this is the correct scenery to use.
The other version of the file:
https://flightsim.to/file/14931/kane-anoka-county-blaine-airport-alternate-version
The two files should be mutually exclusive - only have one version in your community folder.
Installation:
Extract the scenery and drag/drop the anoka folder to the Community directory.
I just checked KANE, and it appears and functions as it should in Sim Update 5! Nice work, on my home-town airfield.

Awesome! I'm happy it works after SU5, it seems to have thrown some folks for a loop. I'm happy to hear there are more local people from the ANE area flying in the sim! I haven't stopped by the field lately but really should make an effort to get out there. I would have loved to see it a few weeks back when the blimp was here for the golf tournament. That would have been a treat! Thanks for commenting!

Thank you for KANE!!!!! 5 miles from my house. Great hangers - a few old military graveyard planes on the south end... Wasn't going to fly tonight - now I have to!!! MN is neglected - following for hopefully more !

Thanks! I am about the same distance from KANE. All my kids have taken Young Eagles flights out of there, and I've spent hours at the observation area as well. Enjoy flying more of MN!

Thank you so much for this! It is so great to finally see KANE fully populated with hangars/buildings. It looks fantastic! Now that you've done Crystal and Anoka, I really hope you might try tackling Lake Elmo, Osceola and Red Wing as well. All would be wonderful airports to fly in/out of in MSFS, if the hangars/infrastructure was in-place.

Thanks. I do see 21D with flat buildings. I haven't checked out KOEO yet in the sim, but I wouldn't be surprised if it also didn't suffer from lack of buildings. Same with KRGK. Might not be too hard to add the small airports, I will certainly take a look. Enjoy KANE though, it's a nice little airport.
