This is the improvement project for the MSFS default G36. It all started as a simple edit of some configuration files but it has since grown into a fully-fledged modification that improves all aspects of the default G36 and introduces new features. This was made possible with the help of the community consisting of both enthusiasts and G36 pilots. (for a list of contributors, see the end of this post).

The 0.6 update adds an all-new engine start simulation to the G36, a working electric fuel pump, more activated and functional switches, updated flight dynamics, system improvements and better lighting effects.

Current features of this modification are:

Features:
Flight dynamics/performance
* Adjusted climb and cruise performance to match the Bonanza G36 POH charts.
* Adjusted flap and gear drag
* Slightly reduced pitch effect due to elevator deflection + propwash
* Slightly increased nosewheel steering angle
* Added drag due to cowl flaps. This causes a 3-4 kts cruise speed loss.
* Decreased yaw sensitivity by lowering deflection rate as a function of speed
* Increased overall stability: less 'twitchy' feeling

Engine & Fuel system
* Completely overhauled engine parameters: realistic fuel flow, mixture-EGT interaction, engine performance at all pressure altitudes.
* Simulation of the electric fuel pump
* More advanced simulation of engine startup:
- Cold starts: correct use of the fuel pump, throttle and mixture required depending on engine and ambient temperature
- Under some conditions, idling the engine too soon after start may cause it to quit.
- Flooded engine: pumping too much fuel to the engine may cause it to ignite slower or not at all.
- Flooded engine start procedure (mixture low/cut, throttle halfway) may resolve this.
- A hot engine running idle with little airflow may quit because the fuel evaporates. (Hotstarts WIP)

Systems
* Added new working systems and switches:
- Airco (has a negative effect on engine performance, you will see a few kts lower cruise speed)
- Airco and ventilator switches are functioning and part of the electrical system
- Annunciator test
* Electrical system overhaul:
- Completely revised electrical buses: all individual systems hooked up to the correct bus
- Bus tie logic added
- Correct voltage indications of BUS2 due to reverse current blocking diodes
- Correct alternator loads
- Made all indications smooth, rather than instant jumps to a new value
* Autopilot tweaks
- Fixed holding the wrong altitude at non-standard atmospheric pressures
- Max pitch and bank angles adjusted for smoother AP behaviour
- Added maximum and minimum IAS_ref speeds for FLC mode
- Adjusted autopilot PIDs
* Integration with the Working Title G1000 mod, with customized ENGINE, LEAN and SYSTEM pages.
* Completely redone G1000 annunciators: all annunciators of the real G36 were implemented (except for door open warnings)
* Corrected fuel gauge scale

Textures & effects
* Including the latest version of Uwajimaya's lighting mod (https://uwajimaya.github.io/FS2020/)
* Corrected decals (e.g. shoulder hardness -> harness)

* Interactive checklists for every stage of your flight that follow the POH

Installation:

1: Download and install the latest version of the Working Title G1000 v0.3 mod
2: Download and unzip the folder 'z-bonanza-g36-improvement-project' in your MSFS Community folder

Important note: make sure that the mod is loaded AFTER the G1000 mod. Mods are loaded in alphabetical order. The release versions therefore have 'z-' at the beginning of the folder name to automatically ensure a correct loading order. For contributors: if you have installed the mod from your fork or local clone you have to manually ensure the loading order is correct.

Current version: 0.6.4

Compatibility update for MSFS version 1.18.3.0 (SimUpdate 5).
Compatible with G1000 legacy v0.4.0 mod.
Compatible with G1000 NXi mod, but some issues are to be expected (e.g. engine pages are not available, manifold pressure gauge misaligned, fuel flow not shown as text).

Hello. I've downloaded both the G1000 v0.3 mod and the improvement project. Everything works fine except the fact that the map on the MFD and inset on PFD are dark. You can see the airports, waypoints and so on but the background is black and you can't see the terrain profile. Any suggestions what's wrong? Thanks in advance

Great mod! I have made a couple of flights following the real POH and the fuel mixture/power/speed is very close to real life

I've been using this mod for a while now. I always liked the Bonanza, but the stock plane was just very underpowered and not very fun to fly. This mod turned what was an underperforming, underwhelming stock aircraft that I didn't bother with into my 2nd favourite single engine piston plane (behind the SR22).

Wonderful project! Even in the early versions (0.5 as of the time of writing) it makes a world of difference. I'm not a IRL pilot so I can't really evaluate the level of realism, but looking at the GitHub and forum posts you can tell there's so much love and attention to detail going into this. And same goes for the G1000 project; together they make the Bonanza so much more enjoyable. Only thing that annoys me that I thrown money on the payware Mooney add-on and now it pales in comparison.

Too bad this mod no longer works, even the April version on GitHub. It causes the entire interior of the plane to disappear. Too bad, cause this mod really made the G36 nice to fly.

It took some time, but we fixed the issues with SU5 compatibility.

As of SU5 it's quite broken. When clicking things like switches or hiding the yoke, the animation doesn't play and when looking from the outside view, the pilot models are A posing.

Someone please make Tip Tanks for the G36 Bonanza! If no pods are possible on the Caravan, we can also have Tip Tanks on the Bonanza! I can try and help if someone wants to do it!

Lack of updates does not mean dead. Plus, if you follow the post in msfs forums, you'd know that the mod updated on its github page, and the last update was in April. The mod has not been reported to have any issues with the latest versions of msfs so whats the point of releasing an update that doesnt fix anything.

Hello, I have installed your mod and the WT G1000 and the customized ENGINE, LEAN and SYSTEM pages are not working.

I see the "busses tied" message at the PFD and I have the "Track up option" at the MFD so they are both installed

quick question: are you going to adjust the panel stuff according to WT's suggestion for WTg1000 compatibility?

My textures on the right side of the main panel and switches on the left side of door and along the bottom of the main panel are all blocky. What is wrong?

Are you using another livery? Using this upgrade on its own should not cause that problem. If you are using another livery, and it has a panel.cfg, it will not necessarily be immediately compatible with this whole aircraft revamp.
